Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
It is all grass or ice out there right now, and completely unskiable. Trails will remain closed until we get more snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Grass was poking through about 30% of the trail -- just not enough snow. I was striding and spent most of the time bouncing in and out of the tracks. Skate deck was far more favorable, but still many patches that you have to work around.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Trails had been groomed just before I got a couple laps in between 4 and 5pm. Classic tracks are set, though 10-15% of the loop is exposed to grass/the ground. So grateful to be skis on trails so close to home!

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Tyler's expertly rolled deck was all but completely buried by drifting snow at 10 am this morning, so skating was a no-go. Classic was more enjoyable, but any tracks you made were filled in, again by drifting snow, within 10 minutes. Grass showed in a couple spots, but generally good coverage - I wasn't worried about ski damage at all. The windchill (near -30F) was no joke - eyes froze shut (with shades on) and had difficulty reopening them and I think I partially froze my brain due to a few strong gusts to the forehead. If you enjoy a good suffer-fest, the next few days at Highland will not disappoint!

Groomer had just finished rolling the skating tract around 1 pm. No classic tracks set yet but plenty of manmade tracks to jump in. Great to be skiing in natural snow just minutes from home.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
We did not get as much snow as predicted. Today we were able to roll the trails, but there's not enough snow to do a full groom. The good news is this packed snow will not blow away, and with some more snow would be looking pretty good. It's skiable at this point, but expect soft trails.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle

Not groomed at 11am. Skiable, but a lot of effort trying to break your own trail (for skating). Classic seemed to be the better choice - once again break your own trail.

Very skiable. Not groomed yet but enough dedicated skiers have been out to pack down a decent trail along the usual loop as well as an additional .75 mile up by the football fields.

The Highland 9 is still not groomed but has a lot of skied in tracks. There are bare spots, and the hill in the middle is grassy, but I've been able to ski most of the course on fishscales. There are some signs that skaters have been out.

Highland was skiable with skied in classic tracks that were blowing shut pretty quickly. No grooming yet.
