Groomers had just finished at 10:30 this morning. Very nice skate deck with just a few icy or bare spots that are easy to avoid. Classic tracks have been set, but I was not classic skiing so cannot comment on those. A very nice ski so close to home. Get out there while you can!

Not as good as Monday, but very good overall. Hadn't been groomed as of this morning. Tracks were hard and fast from thaw/freeze cycle. A few icy spots, but the leaves on the trail were more annoying. Skating track was well-used but firm and fast. More snow would be nice. Get out and ski before the trail melts further.

One classical trail went over a couple of spots with grass showing through. Otherwise excellent track. Groomers did nice job. Deck well compacted.

Fresh tracks put down this morning that looked quite nice, with only one dirty spot. We skated on a touched-up skate deck. Thanks to the Highland groomers for their prompt rolling and grooming. Snow loss from the notorious winds seems minimal.

As of 9:30 Sunday morning the trails had not been groomed which made the trail hard to find. The new snow was soft and pretty wet. A few bare spots on the crests of hills and one small run off river to cross. A little grooming and cold temps would make the skiing much better.

Grooming plans: Saint Paul Parks and Recreation is very excited about the predicted snow in the next few days and are making preparations to groom a trail as soon as we can. Currently the turf at the golf course is not frozen and we expect this will melt some of the first snow we receive this week. This could delay our grooming to protect the golf course as things firm up, but we are planning to groom if we can. Early on Wednesday morning we will be moving equipment into place and assessing the precipitation we receive overnight. If conditions allow we will roll and groom a trail on Wednesday afternoon. Groomers will not be out over the holiday Thursday and Friday but will be ready to groom over the weekend if we get sufficient snow. There are still a lot of variables at play with these weather systems so we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. We'll be monitoring conditions throughout the next few days and will adjust plans to get a trail established as soon as we can. Hopefully this will be the start of a long and excellent cross country season!
