Notes

Some of the best trails in southern Minnesota. Tucked in the valley behind the school, the trails run around the northern slopes of the valley making them quite challenging and also well protected from the sun. Some lighted sections, and snowmaking operations.

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Today was pretty good for skating. Better glide. It’s definitely early seasons conditions thin base and lumpy. But all trails have coverage. Upper trails are very rocky, don’t take your good skis up there. Rock skis are recommended. No track set, too thin of a base.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We received 3-4 inches of new snow today. All trails were rolled Tuesday night. Snow cover was too thin and soft to set a classic track. Recommend B skis for skating and classic (no set track) on the lower trails. Highly recommend rock skis on the upper trails.

[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
Warm temps took their toll, we're back to bare ground. We walked Yon's side of the system and picked up branches. If you'd like a walk, go to the Gilmore side of the trails and pickup branches -- help get us ready for the next snow.

Pretty good conditions here still. Mornings are better. A few dirt spots showing up but easily avoided. With warm weather please stay off the trails to avoid leaving deep ruts that could get frozen in.

8" of snow perked everyone up! We rolled and pulled the Ginzu on all the middle and lower elevation trails. Set track same areas. Many happy skiers out. Still very soft, push offs may hit bottom hence the B skis. Access can be from the upper parking lot or Yon's.
