Trail Detail
Notes
A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.Trail Reports

We have about 8" of fresh snow and it is still coming down. Groomers were out today packing Abbey Road and lower part of Anchor. Other areas will be very deep.

The snow on Saturday helped our base. Today we were able to groom Jolly Long, Skid Road, Seagull, Northern Lights, Anchor, and the Buzz for skate/classic trails. Groomed Classic trails included DeerPath, Black Bear, most of Sugar Bush, N.L Sugar bush, and Oppedahls. Seagull Classic, South lower Sugarbush, and part of Dugarbush between Anchor was not groomed yet.

I skied Abbey road, jolly trail long and Sugar bush trails at night. Beautiful full moon and the conditions were ideal. I would say the trails are 98% there. Some of the classic only tracks that have more tree coverage are a little shallow but all the tracks I skied were firm, slick and more than ready for B skis. If you only have one pair, ski them and don't worry. The trails are in great shape and there is enough snow to get around the little bit of dirt or sticks in the track.

All of the trails have been rolled. There are a few areas that have been groomed with corduroy and tracks. The base is still thin in spots. Rock skis recommended.

Ashwabay website reports: Yesterday Ashwabay got around 6" of new snowfall. Much of the previous base has melted with last weeks warm spell, so we will be working on getting this new stuff compacted over the next couple of days.

All trails have been rolled. There is bare ground at the power line on Abbey Road, Sugarbush, and Anchor Trail Segments. Otherwise the trails are in very skiable shape. No tracks have been set.
