Most of the trails were groomed this morning for skating. The hilly trails (Ruby's, etc) were not groomed but only have an inch of fresh snow on top of the previous cord. Good cord where it was groomed, ok skating were it wasn't. Some of the new deck is narrow after only one or two passes of the groomer. About one half of the classic tracks were reset today and are good. The ones not reset are serviceable.

As of noon all the trails had been groomed for skating. The deck is nice cord over the hard base. You can feel the boilerplate with your poles once in a while, but the new snow has everything covered nicely. He was grooming the Cheri and Bill skills areas. Classic tracks have been set on most of the trails. It's beautiful. The only drawback is the cold snow is slow.

No grooming today of the 3" of new snow. There were a handful of skaters who had gone around some of the trails.

By late morning the exposed trails had softened, but in the shade the boiler plate surface was still hard to get an edge. Please contact EC County Parks and Forests division to encourage more grooming.

Pleasantly surprised!! A thin layer of fresh snow over boiler-plate with no bare ground anywhere. No grooming for some time(?). Once you settled in, it was good skiing. Of course, plenty of fresh debris with the windy evening, but all tolerable. Tracks were thin and contained plenty of debris, but no dirt or ice. Not all the trails had tracks set, but I skied most of the outer loops in the tracks. I did 1/2 skate, then realized many tracks were OK and switched to classic. Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
No grooming since Monday. The skating deck comes in three types: very hard and glazed boiler plate, wind-driven drifted patches, and 1/4" of new, cold snow from last night. Most of the classic tracks have lots of oak leaves, pine cones, and needles and only a fraction have been set in the last two weeks. They are washed out.

Skied classical on most trails. New tracks have recently been set except Tempo, Donut, Lookout, Forget Me Not, Serenity Now between 61 and 71, and I Loop. Where new tracks are set, conditions are good. There are sections of numerous oaks leaves and some debris.

As of 3:00 the groomer had made two to three passes on almost all the trails, leaving a January-like skating deck: firm cord, fast, excellent control. About 10% of the trails had new classic tracks set and the new ones are fast and firm, the old ones are worn out.

No grooming. The skating lane has been well skied-in and is mostly good, but uneven and getting crusty in some places. The classic tracks are getting glazed but remain clean and firm.

The trails have not been groomed since our 1" snowfall Thursday night. The skating deck has seen quite a lot a skiers and is packed down but uneven on all of the trails. The snow is firm. Where the classic tracks have had a lot of use they are packed down and mostly smooth. The lights are on until 9:00.
