Groomers out this afternoon. Snow a little soft yet to set tracks but most tracks are good. Skied the lower trails which were really nice after two decent snows. Enjoyed every minute of new groomed trails. All ability skiers out.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
3" new snow groomed out very well. Everything has been groomed and new tracks set on the entire system. The skate deck is well-covered. The new tracks are very defined. There are a few thin spots, but very few.

The Purple Loop was in very good condition. Classic tracks provided nice glide with just a little debris. This new snow is certainly welcomed. Thanks groomers for a great job.

The trails are in good condition, except on some up hills where the gravel is just popping through and early season grass/twigs in the classic tracks. Thank you groomers for your dedication on this trail system! I classic skied most of the trails today. The classic tracks are so close to the edge that I hit my head three times on tree branches, hopefully they'll be set farther from the edge in the future. On one very steep downhill someone fell almost hitting a tree since the track was so close to the trail edge. Again thank you groomer for your dedication in this awesome park/trail system.

[ Good skis ]
When I moved here from Alaska, where I got over 100 days of good skiing conditions every year, I quickly learned we need to take advantage of every day here where we're lucky to get a couple dozen. Tonight I skied the orange loop under the beautiful full moon light and was pleased to see the trails in excellent shape. Lots of other tracks and I assume they were groomed this morning so it's good to see lots of use today. Would like to send some gratitude to the posters here who I was surprised to see relayed good trail conditions at Willow as I didn't think there'd be enough snow for a good pack. Also thanks to the wonderful volunteer grooming crew and the volunteers from Hudson Rotary and others who cleared the trails of debris in the Fall!

What a pleasant surprise. The trails are better than expected with no rocks or gravel hit. There were pretty decent tracks everywhere. The only reason to choose your B skis is stubble in places and being too lazy to remove your skis for road crossings. There were a fair amount of people out but only saw one other person on the silver trail. Saw maybe 10 other people but it was close to the lot. Beautiful scenery. Special thanks to all the volunteer groomers.

I skied classic today along with lots of other skiers. The track is a bit shallow and soft in spots but still great fun. There are scattered thin spots and areas of leaves and grass poking through. Overall you should be able to avoid those spots but use caution on the downhills. If you're looking to avoid the crowds, try the Red and Orange trails as well as Silver. If you're skiing to the falls, you may want to walk down the last few yards of the hill leading to the bridge. Lots of traffic has exposed gravel and rock.

Lovely morning with mild temperatures and the snow was soft but quite decent to ski on. Some leaf litter and stubble in places but the skating deck and tracked portion of the trails were in good shape.

Really fun skiing at Willow River today. I love skiing here... lots of varied terrain, great scenery, and great grooming. They groomed the skate deck and set tracks throughout. I expected more thin spots, but coverage was quite good, even in the tracks. I was skating, but tracks were full depth with some grassy spots, which were avoidable. The falls were spectacular as always. Thank you to the Willow River groomers!

The groomers did a great job of rolling and setting track for the trails. Very few bad spots on the whole trail. We spent 3 hours out there and it was just great. The skaters seem to be having fun but it looked just a tad soft to me for that as I was a skater before. Snow was like a fine powder so it was definitely great skiing snow. Thanks for making winter fun again.
