The Red Cedar Trail was groomed for 20.6 k from Menomonie to Hwy Y. This includes the skating lane as well as sections of classic track as needed. The trail received from one to two inches of snow since yesterday. The Red Cedar Trail is a Birkie Virtual Parter and turn around points are marked. Please note that from the start in Menomonie to the turnaround at hwy Y and back is about 41 k. The trail is in very good condition today. Birkie skiers can pick out some fast and scenic spots on the trail to double back and pick up the extra required distance.

The Red Cedar trail was groomed from Menomonie for a distance of 20.6 K to Hwy Y. Classic tracks and the skate lane were set and groomed. Conditions are very good with a solid base and 2-3 inches of new snow. The Red Cedar Trail is a Birkie Virtual Site. Signs have been placed indicating the Start location at the trailhead located on Hwy 29 on the west side of Menomonie. There are also signs on the trail showing the Prince Haakon and Korte turnaround points. The signed turnaround point for the Birkie at Hwy Y is a about 2 k short of the distance needed to complete the Birkie. There are plenty of scenic spots to double back and put in the extra distance.
