Today Bluebird, Voss Lake, Birch, and Otter Trails were rolled, tracks were set, and the skate lanes combed. The skiing surface is a bit soft on our recently groomed trails.  Skiers will notice "tree litter" when skiing through red and white pine groves due to recent high winds.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Our groomers were out today battling drifting snow and high winds. Trails east of the flowage (Wolf, Moose, Homestead, and Osprey) have been rolled and fallen trees removed. No grooming is scheduled for Sunday. There is significant drifting on Bluebird which will take sometime to open up.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Wanted to skate ski there today but 3 inches of new, ungroomed snow and cold temps pushed me to drive to WinMan.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skated the entire trail system today and conditions were fantastic with recently groomed skate lanes that were clean, smooth and firm. It was nice to be able to focus on technique and not balance and avoidance for a change. Mecca is a gem with consistently well groomed trails, excellent signage and one of the coziest chalets in the Northwoods... all volunteer run.

A very nice ski. The trails are as beautiful as any I've skied on. Skate lane was groomed earlier today and very firm. Tracks were in very good shape.
