The core trails were all groomed today but none of the outer trails. Conditions were very good and the scenery with the new fallen snow was spectacular. I skate skied 19K on the interior loops. The skate deck was of medium firmness. The track was not fast but not slow either. It was a perfect close to 2019.

Trails were in excellent condition today. Skied Tornado Alley, Survivor, XC Express and Nepco's Cruise. It was a perfect blue wax day.

A fairy tale wonderland after a 7-8” dump. Groomer folk had worked their magic with track/skate lane on the inner loops and longer Wolf Tracks. Softish didn’t matter as we ducked and twisted our way out of snow laden branches while kicking and punching our way along. Slight icing may have been over waxing or wetness working up from the bottom. Sure to freeze up tonight. A jammed packed parking lot gave way to silence and solitude the further out from the chalet you worked. A fine way to finish the year.

A little klister classic today, old setup like the early Birkie days with a Swix cover. Glad I didn't do 50+k as grip went south quickly and wore off on the old iced track. Skate lane kick seemed ok and the downs were a fast ride, but the skaters looked to be having more fun. Seems like there were grooming equipment issues as the PB was parked overnight by the tubing hill. Saw a Gator with West Yellowstone heading out early to comb the skate lanes, so, as per the website, it'll be skating in the rain Sunday morning before the Packers v Viking game at noon. Oops! Did that already.

Overall fair to good conditions on trails that had been groomed day of considering the freeze/thaw cycle and lack of recent snow . A solid base but a fair amount of debris especially on the further out trails and through wooded sections - enough so that I would recommend B skis, if an option. Tracks had not been reset so were particularly icy. On trails that had not been groomed that day were pretty rutted and choppy with a glazed over surface. Would have been nice to have the groomer hit some trails that had not been done for several days. Survivor, tornado and the Base Loop were skiing the best for skating.

I classic skied out to Nekoosa and Wolf Tracks. Classic conditions were as poor as I have ever seen them. The tracks were icy and the adjacent skate deck was icy and rough. Control was non-existent and I like to ski under control. Not possible today. I didn't skate so I can't report on that.

Although it's been warming been warm, the skiing was pretty good. There was some detritus on the trails which slowed you down but no complaints, though some trails were icy. For those of us from ChiTown it was a real treat to see and experience snow. While not perfect conditions, I highly recommend a trip up here.

Despite the warm temps the skate deck was very skiable. Wet and soft snow but still able to glide. Some slick spots.

Wonderful skiing. Excellent grooming. Perfect temps. I skated, my wife skied classical. Skate deck was firm. Tracks were solid. Entire park was in excellent shape. Well worth the drive from brown, snow starved Madison.

Skated a tour of some inner loops and found conditions to be superb. Had one or a few skiers before us, but basically busting corduroy the whole way. I jumped into tracks here and there for a little double pole and found them firm and hard with pole plants solid. Looks like the outer trails are open, but just didn't have time to explore. Warmish weather makes for fun without frostbite.
