Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Please note that any low spots on the trails may be soft and could have flowing water. The Red, Green and Blue trails all received grooming and touched up track as best possible with the current conditions. Some of the purple skate deck was touched up. Part of the yellow trail is now open to ski, but is in fair condition and has only been groomed to the second hill bypass. Use caution on the Blue trail due to heavy flowing water on that trail!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The trails are extremely soft and have standing water in some spots. Due to the amount of rain and warm temps our grooming operations will have to be on hold until weather changes and allows for us to work without causing damage. All trails will remain open; however its recommended to stay off them to try and preserve the base we have at this time.

When you want a "sure thing", Superior always delivers! Fresh grooming created amazing cord and they worked on the classic tracks too! The snow had just started falling when we started skiing on the red and green. Trail conditions were probably some of the best in town! Huge thank you to the groomers!

We classic skied the red and green today. Although there was no fresh grooming, the tracks were in pretty good shape for the most part with debris in them from time to time and a few misshapen spots from skiers. We jumped into the skate lane on a few downhills where the tracks had body marks and they were really flat and smooth for the most part.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Trails are soft due to temps and overnight rain but are holding up. No grooming took place today to avoid damage to the trails with the equipment however significant progress was made in clearing the yellow trail and continued trail clearing work will continue tomorrow. All trails remain open except for the yellow trail at this time.

Always a treat to ski on freshly groomed trails! We enjoyed our firm, well shaped classic tracks while others enjoyed the newly created cord! Well worth the drive from anywhere to ski at the SMF knowing you will be treated to new grooming every day! We did the red and the green today. Remember to get your pass before you ski!

Firsthand: Freestyle

Report for the Orange Skijor/Multiuse trail: In great shape for a skijor with the dog last night. I missed the sign initially and ended up on the snowmobile trail initially, which wasn't too bad for skijoring either, but once I found the actual trail, it was in great shape. Seemed to have been groomed after the most recent snow, good firm base with an occasional soft spot or branch/stick but in great shape. Skijored the whole 8K loop. Just keep your eye out driving in on Riverside, the trail entrance off to the right sneaks up on you.

Excellent skiing and beautiful scenery. All trails except the yellow apparently groomed today, resulting in smooth, flat, faster than expected conditions. No classic tracks on the blue or the purple where it heads south away from 42nd street, excellent tracks all other trails. Evidence of work occurring on the yellow trail, but not yet groomed. The woods are beautiful, blanketed with over three feet of snow that has fallen since the day before Thanksgiving. Northeast-facing tree trunks are still plastered white from the December 1st blizzard.
