Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed today after all the new snow Monday and Tuesday. The track formed up well and all the forest litter is covered up again. The track and pole deck are a little soft but it should firm up with sub zero temps. There is a lot of deer activity on the trail in places so I expect some deer damage in those places before it firms up. The parking lot had not been plowed yet as of the end of the day.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied Hiram today in the late afternoon. Wind was picking up so more oak leaves were blowing into the track in some areas but over all not enough to slow the glide down much. Some of the hills were getting washed out from folks herring boning. Still a fun ski today.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed early this morning to try to bury most of the leaves and sticks that came down in yesterday's very strong winds and reset the track that had been drifted over in some places. Much of the leaves and sticks did get buried but the track did not form up well because of the very cold temps this morning. The track is fairly shallow and ragged but it's not filled with leaves anymore. Ski-able but not as good as I would like it.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed this morning after the couple inches of snow this past Sunday and all the skier and deer traffic since the last grooming. Track formed up well but it is fairly soft with the mild temps today so it will probably get some what torn up from the skier and deer traffic today. It should firm up over night with the sub zero temps forecast. The gusty wind was bringing down more Red Oak and Ironwood leaves as I was grooming so expect some accumulation in the track. Very good skiing conditions overall though.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the trail this morning after around 4 inches of new snow yesterday afternoon and early evening. Made several passes to pack the new snow and reset the track. Very strong winds today are bringing down more leaves and sticks plus causing a little drifting in the open areas. The track and pole deck are a little soft but it should firm up with subzero temps.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed today after getting 2 to 3 inches of new snow over the weekend. Made one pass around the trail to pack and reset the track. Most all the oak and ironwood leaves are covered up again and the track formed up pretty well. With the mild temps today the track and pole deck are pretty soft so hopefully it will set up firmer overnight.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It had been a little over a week since I last groomed so the trail was getting pretty worn out plus many oak leaves in the track so I groomed today. Made several passes to widen the trail back out and reset the track. The track for the most park turned out fairly shallow and not well formed but what is there should firm up with the below zero temps. The leaves that were on the trail mixed into the old snow pretty well but there was a strong wind today bringing more leaves down as I was grooming so there will still be leaves in the track in places. It was still a fun ski after I was done grooming.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed today after picking up a couple inches of fluffy snow over the past few days. The track turned out a little ragged but it is plenty good to hold the skis and it should firm up with below zero temps. Was able to mix most all the oak leaves into the snow so they are pretty well covered up for now but more are coming down any time the wind blows. Very pretty day in the woods, get out and enjoy some fun skiing.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Some sections of the trail had lots of oak leaves in the track plus deer damage as well as just worn from all the skier traffic so I groomed today. The leaves mixed into the snow pretty well so they should not be a problem for a while. The track formed up well and should firm up overnight.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions at Hiram have deteriorated somewhat since it was groomed on Thursday. The track has gotten shallower after the little bit new snow and from people herring boning on the up hill sections but it will still hold the skis pretty well. There is some deer damage in places and the strong winds last night brought down more oak leaves that have settled in the track which slowed the glide down. Overall, still fairly good skiing.
