Fabulous conditions at Swedetown. Freshly groomed. Deep tracks and wonderful skate deck. A few leaves in tracks from howling wind, but not bothersome.

A dusting of new snow over existing groomed three feet of packed base. Wonderful skiing even though a bit slow with new snow falling during ski and winds whipping and blowing the snow around.

Trail conditions are perfect for the upcoming Bear Chase this weekend. Skate trails have a great base, classic tracks are firm and clean. Snowing a little today that will be tilled in for the race grooming.

Skiing at Swedetown is as good as it gets right now. Temps stayed below freezing over the weekend, with about 10 inches of new snow sandwiched around some freezing rain. Today the sun was out, the only visible ice was clinging to trees, and it was beautiful. It's shaping up to be a great Great Bear Chase! Trails have close to a 3 foot base, with 40-some inches of snow in the woods.

One of my finest skiing experiences of the year. It doesn't get any better than this. Excellent grooming, friendly people, with great tracks. Skied almost all loops, everything is good.

A little mental math while skiing had me in the multiple hundredth time at Swedetown. Bear Chases, ski camps, getaways all tallied and reviewed and this one had “Classic Classic” stamped on it. Well defined track faded into a softened blurb as snow fell for the hour and a half we skied. The parking lot half filled at the start didn’t fore run our trails so we took turns plowing ahead. Heads plastered with snow, buffs whitened, we grinned our way back in and recalled, from start to finish, the many old, yet new touchstones of our skiing past.

Beautiful morning ski before heading back south (boo hoo). As usual beautiful grooming at Swedetown. Skate deck felt a little soft with the new snow from Sunday but was glorious all the same. Skied green, blue, and black trails and all were great.

Skated and strided the Pappa, Momma and Baby Bear loops, and strided Ed's and Greenstone loops. It was nicely groomed in the early morning. Light snow fell throughout the morning while we skied. What a nice trail system!

Skated the easy trails. Perfect grooming for skating. Classic skied the Momma, Poppa and Baby bear loops. Very scenic trails. Enjoyed our ski outting on a partly sunny crisp day.
