Tuesday, January 11, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions continue, skate lanes were groomed yesterday and are wonderful. Classic tracks had little use over the subzero weekend and are fine also. Grooming plans: Grooming will be done later Friday if possible, or Saturday morning. Open house with free ski rental from 1-3 Sundays.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions, with 1” new snow, base is 6”. Groomer training yesterday really packed things down nicely, all classic tracks are set and skate lane is nice. It’s going to be too cold for the planned open house tomorrow, so that was cancelled until next week.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent/perfect conditions throughout. We have a deep solid base from the 18” new snow last week. Lake loop was just finished and track set today. Other trails were already done, but Neil regroomed the skate lane on Lilly’s and Lake. In addition to the ski-only track, we have a network of snowshoe trails, where hikers and dogs are also welcome. Open houses begin Sunday 1-3, if temp is above 0. This Sunday may be too cold — safety issue for kids/beginners.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomers report all trails in excellent condition, with track setting on Troll in progress and others completed. We had about 18” total last week, so it took multiple packing and grooming runs to get things under control. At -36.4 F there will be no firsthand report from me today, hopefully tomorrow! My glide wax, fingers and toes are all only good to zero now.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions, trails were all groomed Wednesday. We’ve had a total of 8” new snow, so most of the skate lanes and classic tracks are good. Lake loop had some blowing after the rain/snow event, so is only fair, with some grassy and thin spots. With the recent snow coating the trees, it is a beautiful place to ski right now. Chalet is open and snowshoes are available for use. You can also gather around the outside fire ring.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails are fair, with shady spots still looking good, but some sunny spots, like the south side of Eagle, getting slushy/icy or bare on the hills. Still very amiable with B or rock skis. Here’s hoping whatever falls from the sky on Wednesday night is white!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions are good to fair for skate, fair for classic. All trails were packed on Tuesday and track set on Lilly’s beginner loop. Some grass and brush poking through here and there, and trails are always a little soft after the first grooming. Warming house is open and also plans for a fire outdoors are in progress. MN ski pass required. Separate snowshoe trails are also available. Open house Sundays 1-3 pm will resume in January.
