Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The skate deck was firm and fast. Part of Finland is still not groomed. Most of the classic track still looks good.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skate deck firmed-up overnight, and although still a tab bit soft the snow and temperatures (mid-20s) made for fairly fast skiing. All-in-all quite good.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
We arrived as grooming was in progress (2:30). Not surprisingly the skate deck was somewhat soft, so we limited our ski time so as not to mar the trails. Coverage is excellent, and the trails are in great shape, and should be better when set-up.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I went over the skating deck on all trails except finland. It groomed well and managed to fill in all the deer and human tracks. I'm sure it will be soft today but should firm up overnight. I didn't recut the classic track since they were in very good shape. Finland trail has a lot of large hard drifts on the first part. It probably won't get groomed until i can get a piston bully back there.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skate deck is a mixed bag. Firm with little powder, and even remnant of corduroy, to soft with 2 inches or so of powder (largely hoar frost). A bit rough due to the traffic of the past several days, but reasonable fast skiing. Classical tracks remain in good shape.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Although recently groomed, the trails (skate deck) would benefit from some attention. Traffic - both ski and unfortunately walkers - has marred sections of the trails and there remains some substantial accumulation (1.5 -2 inches) over the deck in places.. Still in pretty good condition in less used stretches, i.e. lower shortcut (Cranberry), Haugs. From what I ski this morning the classical tracks are intact for the most part. Cold temperatures led to slower skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Recently groomed and incredible coverage. New snow has covered previously exposed leaf and twig litter. To be clear the skiing is good to very good, but there are several problems. The skate deck has mixed conditions ranging from being firm with nice pristine, or nearly so, corduroy to being relatively soft with a veneer of 1-2 inches of a mix(?) of hoar frost and new powder. The hoar frost did make the cold snow a little faster. Some classical skiers are not using the tracks, that are in great condition, but rather skiing-in tracks in the skate lane. Finally there are numerous footprint on hills, and on Chuckwagon "off-hill" snowboarders walking back up have obliterated the grooming.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails are groomed with skating deck and one set of classic tracks. With the 6 inches of fresh powder the trails groomed Perfectly. They should set up well overnight. The trails are in the best condition of the season. No leaves or sticks on the trail. Finland trail is half open with a skating lane. Get out there before the wind starts up again!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
This morning we found the skate deck to be hard-packed snow (i.e. very firm), and at least my skis were a bit squirrelly on the downhills. The western half of Whispering Pines (directly behind the ski hill) owing to less traffic was in much better condition with a firm deck covered with a little powder (or hoar frost) and some preserved corduroy. Leaf and twig litter is fairly common.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skate deck was somewhat rough, glazed in parts, but firm. Nursing a knee problem I double-poled in the tracks for about 45 minutes (skate skis) and found them to be fast and in reasonable shape.
