Trail Detail
Notes
Trails consist of 5 separate loops groomed by volunteers from the Wolverine Nordic Ski Club. An interesting mix for all ability levels. Heavily wooded terrain and great snow make for a wonderful ski experience.New warming shelter.Trail Reports

All but the short easy loop near the Chalet had just been groomed and tracked when we arrived at 9am. Firm flat skate deck and deep tracks made for excellent skiing, both classic and skate. Only 1% of trail system had signs of ice/crust from water flow areas, so firming up nicely. What a beautiful trail system maintained by community skiers.

All trails were track set and rolled early this morning. Very good trail conditions. The Novice trail is closed due to wet conditions.

Arrived late morning and found freshly groomed trails. Skied the Powderhorn and Cliff trail (some of the other trails were not groomed). Nicely groomed skate deck, classic tracks looked good, a little soft and undulating but overall very good early season conditions.

Conditions are good, and continue to get better with regular grooming. The best conditions with firm skate deck and classic track can be found from the chalet around the 3-sisters cut-off loop via cliff trail. Cliff Hanger, and the rest of Powderhorn loop, have been rolled and remain soft. Wolverine loop toward the hospital has only a snowshoe path, and the rest of the loop is closed until Dec 1. There are a few areas where moisture can be seen coming through the base, and one small section of classic track that is wet but easily avoided. Early season ground effects will test your balance in some areas. Classic tracks were a surprise to find, and skied very well.

Poor skating conditions. Packed portion of trails were not wide enough to allow any side to side push off. This made climbing frustrating. Ski tips get stuck too frequently. Did another lap with classic skis. This was much more enjoyable but there were no tracks set. A few wet/icy patches that were easy to get around. Trail needs more grooming and needs to firm up.
