Very nice skiing at Cleary late morning / early afternoon on Saturday. The tracks had been groomed this morning and the skate deck was refreshed. There was very little leaf litter in the tracks - just a couple stretches where I hopped out and double-poled for a bit. I used my good skis with no problem. Skate looked great. The wind gradually increased throughout the workout, but it stayed very comfortable in the woods. Thank you to the Cleary groomers!

Winds last night created an obscene amount of sticks/tree litter before the groomer came out around 7:30 am! Skate deck is good, classic tracks not so much. Definitely still skiable but look out for those sticks! Saw a few deer. Any day skiing in the woods is a good day could use a foot of snow, hopefully soon.

Firm deck, trail skied faster than the temperature, maybe a little granular but not icy. Good coverage, hopefully the really warm days will hold off awhile. Classic looked fair, usual oak clutter. Groomers been out almost daily... Thanks Three Rivers!

Cleary's still pretty good. Firm skate deck with a bit of recent snow groomed in on top. Classic tracks looked fair. Good number of folks out last couple days.

I skated Cleary at 2pm today and it was marvelous! The 1/2" snow dusting we got made the trail fresh and beautiful and honestly great for skating! Whatever tilling they'd done + new snow made for a very nice skate deck. The classic tracks were not recently machine-set, and were shallow but free of leaves and debris. A lack of 30 mph winds did the tracks good. Was delighted to see a MYSL group on the trails. So gratifying to see the little bodies moving pell-mell down the trail, never mind the single digit temps.

Surprisingly good considering yesterday's thaw! Very little ice, fast, some oak litter especially in classic track. Classic tracks getting washed out a bit. Lower Ironwood open but pretty much bushwacking through the swamp sections.

Had some fun skijoring for the first time with my English Setter pup, Lou. We did a couple laps around the golf course which I found to be in really great shape. There were a couple thin spots on the north end but overall very clean and fast snow.

I skied the short loop a few times this afternoon. With the dusting of new snow, the conditions were much better than yesterday when I skied the big loop. No leaf debris to speak of today, and the new snow provided very nice kick and glide. The tracks are mostly medium depth, with a couple of washed-out areas around the corners. There were a few spots with dirt showing through, but they were easily avoidable by stepping into the skate lane (which was excellent). I used good skis with no problem, but stayed away from the few dirty spots. A thin coat of V-20 kicked very well.

Half inch new snow on top of firm base made for great conditions, oak leaves mostly covered. Hadn't been groomed as of 10AM but doesn't really need it. Even lower Ironwood was open/groomed but swamp sections need about 6" snow to cover the stalks. Classis tracks looked fine, a bit shallow in spots.

Groomed and rolled in the past day. Tracked for classic skiing. Grooming equipment pulled up some dirt and rocks where the snow base is thin. Lots of debris on the trail from the strong winds. Keep an eye open for rocks.
