Tofte and Summit View trails are in excellent condition. Small amount of drifting as you head out from Britton, but after the first half mile it's smooth sailing. Tofte Trail hadn't seen any skate traffic since it was groomed late last week and was a delightfully crusted corduroy. Good coverage all the way down to the trailhead in Tofte. Skied picnic and ORR over the weekend and would expect to find similarly excellent conditions, perhaps with just a bit less visible corduroy.

It felt like mid January on the Sugarbush Trails this weekend. Groomed maybe before the weekend (Friday?). A part of the Hogback + Homestead Loops had a little bit of a harder crust to them than the rest of the Homestead Loop. Still possible to get an edge Picnic Loop firm, less icy crust. Oberg Loop fast, like maybe too fast? ( We got a tiny portion of the sleet/rain that Hayward got on the weekend). Grooming was lovely - still some corduroy present on Sunday afternoon. Still a significant amount of snow in the woods and on the trail - I didn't get a picture but saw a downed tree (off the trail) with about 18 inches of snow piled up on top of it. Should be fun skiing for a long while yet. Highly recommend.

A great ski! Better than I would have anticipated given the mixed precipitation. There was a little crust on the classic trail, but it only made the run a bit faster. A beautiful afternoon with lots of privacy.

I'll just add a third day in a row of Sugarbush reports... very good conditions both skate and classic. I did the Oberg Loop and that was groomed nicely and a lot of fun. The trail heading towards Brittain Peak also in great shape. Parking lot 3/4 full but only met a few on the trails, several had done the Picnic Loop.

Stellar Sugarbush! Maybe 2 or 3 on Oberg Loop before I made mine. That trail flows very well, as does the rest of the system. Cerulean blue skies and super firm track made for special day. Clean trails up Onion River Rd as well. Maybe 3 tracks on skate deck. Kudos to the groomers.

What a wonderful trail system. The trails were Pisten Bully groomed last night. The classic tracks were perfect and skate lane was solid. The Wood Duck Loop was fun and parts were double tracked. Took the Tofte trail down to Tofte. At the beginning on the flats there were spots with some small drifts but the rest was a very thrilling, easy flow. Picturesque views of white birch along the trail. A beautiful sunny day.

About 4" of fresh, ungroomed snow from yesterday slowed things down a bit, but temps and glide were excellent. Skied Homestead and Hogback, neither of which had seen much traffic and were good skating. Areas near the Sawbill trailhead that had seen more traffic were getting a little bit choppy, but were plenty skiable.

Started at Britton Peak Trailhead and skate skied to the Hogback Loop, the Bridge Run, and then back to the trailhead. Thank you groomers (and Mother Nature too, of course) for doing an outstanding job. Skate deck was in perfect condition. Since our family was visiting the Tofte area for the weekend, we also visited nearby Temperance River State Park, and hiked north from Hwy 61 along the Superior Hiking Trail to the first river bridge, and then back. Scenery there was equally fantastic. Great weekend on the North Shore!

Gorgeous conditions and weather set the this jewel trail system of the north shore apart from all others. Skied the Picnic today in sheer joy on well set tracks. Temp high 20's to 30. Skate deck hard packed.

From Onion River Rd, took Picnic loop and the shorter connections to complete the loop. Some drifting in classic tracks on Onion Rd but enough skiers had gone over it so that it didn't really matter. Very little drifting on the Picnic Loop itself, just a dusting here and there on the corduroy for the skaters. An excellent experience, great conditions. Coming around to the blue trails on the lake side of the trail system, classic tracks were largely drifted with packed snow (outer part of Homestead was the worst, and the J to L section was also drifted but had seen a bit more traffic). Slow overall but more time to see the sights and enjoy the ski.
