So I knew we had snow, but whew, there is a lot of snow out there! And with that comes exciting news to report: all trail segments are groomed and tracked! (well with the exception of the swamp loop, too many leaning trees) The powdery snow packed down and tracked well, should set up nice overnight. It's a winter wonderland, have fun out there everyone!

We went out and packed most of the trails Wednesday. Took care of a few trees so you don't have to do the limbo anymore! We tried setting track but it went down to ice or rock. Wish I had a better report for you! Think snowy thoughts.

USFS groomed the trails today laying down "corduroy", a new term I learned from them which is what they had done in my initial report to pack the base. They said they tried laying down tracks, but it just went down to ice or ground. Picture is of one of the two USFS employees on her sled.

Lost a lot of base due to rain last week. Two open areas were pretty thin, but overall, most of the trail was fine and enough to ski. Naturally groomed (i.e. skied in tracks only).

All Big Aspen trails have been packed and a few are partially groomed! Looking forward to more snow so we can lay tracks where it's a bit rocky yet. Until then, have fun!

This morning, the USFS packed the trail system down with a pull behind roller, in preparation for grooming. Until we get more snow, some segments are still a bit rocky.

Groomed by USFS with track shown in picture. Usually they use two-way classical tracks. Not sure what these were [ Those are roller grooves; snow was just packed, not tracked -- Ed.]. Good base. Occasional branch poking out of snow.
