Dear Groomers: Wow, great job on making the most of the snow! Thank you. Excellent skating conditions under a sunny blue sky in 7 degree temps. Skied everything but PERS Loop and the Birches Fence Line and really enjoyed it. Carpe Skiem!

[ Trails Open: All ]
Very disappointed no groomed classic trails this afternoon at Reforestation Camp. Conditions would be great for skate skiing.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Fantastic morning ski. Started at first light and had fresh corduroy throughout, with a firm base and well groomed throughout the system. Skied Birches, Maples, Pet's Loop, Rifle Range, and all connectors, and conditions were way better than expected! Nearly good ski conditions, for sure. Worth a visit today, now that there is some some snow on top and very minimal debris. Huge thanks to the amazing county groomers!

Skied the green loop and was pleasantly surprised. They rolled the trails in the morning and had a bit of fresh powder on top. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The RFC exceeded the low expectations I had given the void of snow and cold temps we've had so far this January. Skaters will find the best conditions to be the loops adjacent to the biathlon range. The Birches along the road, and PERS Loop are icy, rutted and with woods debris. The groomers were actively working to improve things. There are no tracks. Carpe Skiem!

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skated the Lite Loop and Main streets in 40 degree temps under an overcast sky. Better coverage than I expected with the amount of wind debris. Observed 1/4 depth tracks tracks throughout. Carpe Skiem!

Skating trails have been compacted by prior use. The debris is moderate and variable, especially under the pines. Adjacent classic tracks looked good. The skate deck was fair to good.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skating trails not groomed since yesterday. Trails have been packed and polished by previous skiers. Moderate debris on the ski deck. Only use good skis with caution. Classic skiers reported that tracks are good or very good on oaks, birches, Maples.

Maples, birches, biathlon loop and lighted loop had fresh grooming on the skate deck. Classic tracks were set, but shallow. Rock skis are recommended but good skis may be used with caution. Moderate amount of debris.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skated Birches, Maples (without Per's Loop), and Pines this afternoon. The trails are holding up as best as can be expected, especially considering the recent wind. Given that it hasn't been regroomed in a couple of days, conditions are best where other skiiers have been going/middle of the trail, with deeper and softer snow at the edges. Lots of needles and some cones, as well as a few sticks the further North or deeper in the woods you ski. Recommend rock or B skis. All in all, though, great to have some decent routes and a sufficient base still in December!
