Arrived at Lakewood at 11:00 a.m. and got off the trail at 1:30 p.m. Trail was in Great shape for classical and skating. Just a couple leaves in the classic track. We went from the old 32 parking lot and did the whole loop to the north and back. Worth the trip!

Started at old 32 trailhead at 1:15. Skated to the north end and back then did the golf course loop to complete the trail. Temp was 16°F when I started and dropped down to 13 by the time I was done. The trail set up nicely with the low temps from the night before. Fresh cord was still available at both the north end loop and golf course loop but the snow in the middle was the fastest being slightly more transformed. Stiff skis with a cold grind ran superb on the hard packed trail. Skating was fun but the classic skiers out probably enjoyed even better conditions in the cold weather. Solid track throughout but the PB-set track on the gold course loop was pristine. First pic is just south of Sullivan Springs Rd and second one is from golf course loop.

Complete trail was touched up today. The Piston Bully did the golf course and the hills behind the golf course. Skate lane and new track was set. One skier said, world class conditions in this section. The Yellowstone touched up the skate lane on the rest of the trail. Classic track was set by the Piston Bully two days ago and was left alone. Many skiers said the trail is in excellent condition. Thanks to all and Happy New Year.

14F degrees. Skied north from the golf course on a nice relatively flat skate deck with a half inch of new, light fluffy snow. The course was firmest on the south end but decent throughout as the cold overnight temps hardened up yesterday’s groom. Classic tracks set throughout.
