Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
We had several inches of LES yesterday which groomed in well this morning. Skate lanes came out very good. Unable to set new classic tracks, but snow in older tracks slowed things down. Full sun, so people coming all day long. Groomed A, B, D, Y and W, this morning. Most people using our upper parking lot as W and Y are fairly flat loops. We still have a deep base so will keep something groomed into April.

Great base, little debris and plenty of control after grooming with Ginzu this weekend for skate skiing. Tracks were a bit banged up but not bad.

Good skating this morning after full groom yesterday morning. Trails should be good all weekend as temps forecast up to 34F today and tomorrow. A light crowd this morning as Munising is cheering on Boys Basketball team who are playing for State Championships. Use upper parking lot for access to Y and W which are our flat trails. Lodge is open.

4-5" of fresh snow Wednesday night which John groomed in Thursday morning. John was out again at 5am grooming entire system. Gregg R reported good skating early. My kick wax was still working at 1pm. A good base with off trail snow as deep as it has been all winter. Snow shoe trail is looking good. Saturday 11 a-4p is our annual Taste and Glide. A full lineup of great food put together by Peggy Carberry. Some live music. Grooming plans: Groomer will be out early Saturday. Early skaters get the cord.

Very good classic skiing with those using kick wax having a great day. Skins worked well also. A great turnout on a beautiful sunny day. Tomorrow promises to be even better. If you are on your way home from the Birkie plan to stop for a ski. Lodge is open every day with wood stove going.

Groomer John C was very happy this morning after 3" of fresh LES overnight everything groomed up well. The big flakes velcroed everything together, temps 19F. Light LES flurries continue during the day. Blue kick wax will be good and skate deck is flat and in great shape. VS has a 12-14" base with 24" off trail. Snow shoe trail is open and scenery is great with snow on the trees.

2" of wet snow overnight was groomed in and new track set. Classic skiers were doing well despite temps into the 30's. We have a good base so any mild temps will not have much of an impact. A good turnout of midweek skiers from lower Mich and WI. Lodge is open every day with a wood fire. Snowshoe trail along the creek is well packed in.
