Trails had great coverage for the Norseman Challenge, almost too much of a good thing (snow!). Great to see all the MS and HS racers. I did the 20k skate race/tour and the beautiful hilly course. Mashed potato snow on the uphills but what can you do? Smile and curse. Super fun downhills on that course. A really fun low key event. Highly recommend it!

Conditions are the best they have been all year. Tracks are in good condition and not really iced over. Skate deck is firm and fast. Did not encounter any thin/icy spots. Hardly any debris.

Conditions are great at Iola! The latest snows really helped. First-hand, I only skied the Green sections (injury rehab!), but everything is fully covered and packed. Track looks good, as well. I used B skis, as that's all I have prepped, but I would not have hesitated using my best skis.

Skated along side some friends in the track. The track was hard and fast with very good kick. It was so fast that I had a hard time keeping up with the classic friends! The skating deck is covered at 99.5% And setting up nicely, every trail has been groomed and groomed and groomed. What a pleasure to be on fresh snow and such well groomed trails. It has been awhile waiting for these conditions. Good timing for the Norseman Challenge race this coming Sunday. Happy trails!

Received 4-5" powdery snow Saturday night. Grooming complete by Sunday afternoon. Used waxless skis today on the Green Loop, Wasrud Loop, and Field of Dreams. 99-1/2% coverage, great ski. Talked with some skate skiers and they said the skate deck was fast, fast, fast with 100% coverage. Nice job groomers!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Finished grooming the skate lanes on all trails including the crossovers about 2 pm. Good skis on green and blue trails, B skis on the black trail. Tracks are very well used, icy in spots, but still very skiable

Trails were freshly groomed upon arrival. Phil and gang did another beautiful, professional job of grooming the snow and ice crust. Excellent conditions, all things considerd. Worth the trip from Green Bay. Still awaiting upon Nieve Alba for more winter magic.

Best skate skiing experience this season! Worth the drive. Solid deck, complete coverage, even some light snow coming down! 50% depth well-defined track for striders. Iola is such a gem, great terrain, and always well maintained. The only stretch that required some navigation was the “Stream Side” loop. Chalet open for necessities only. Carpe Skiem!

Skied the flat green sections--the straightaway, the Pines, and the race start area by the road. Those area ski well for only having maybe 1" of base. Fully covered, though. I started on rock skis but switched to B skis with no worries. There were people coming off of the blue into the Pines, but I couldn't tell how covered the hillier blue sections were. Lots of activity today, and there was a high school race yesterday. Amazing, really, given how little snow we've had. Also nice outdoor setup with lots of benches, a fire pit going. Chalet is stated as closed but open for rest room use only.

Skied the 10km loop. Was able to make it around but had to dodge dirt and grass in the skate lane. More grass in the tracks. Conditions were good for the little amount of snow and my relatives who skied smaller loops thought the trail was nice but there was too many pouting children. Those were ours, so you probably won’t hear them if you go.
