Excellent skating and striding. Classic tracks in very good shape with the majority of leaves and twigs covered up by Phil - well done!

The trails were in great condition and had plenty of coverage. The blue and green trail were almost perfect. The black loop had some thin/slick areas under the pines but otherwise good. Thanks to Phil the groomer who made these great conditions possible.

Fantastic grooming, full coverage and very little leaf litter. What a great day to be out! If you still have time today, get out onto these trails.

Skied Black and Purple (Wasrud) Loops. Best conditions all season on black. Purple tracks are very shallow and I wouldn't recommend that loop for classic. It was a great day out there. Hope it holds up to warmer temperatures. Thank you grooming team and volunteers.

Another excellent day of skiing at Iola. Skate deck was newly groomed and classic tracks looked great. Lots of skiers commenting on the great conditions, both skate and classic.

Really fantastic grooming considering how little snow there was to work with. I used B skis, but could've used my best ones. The purple loop through the field had pretty shallow tracks, but everything else was dialed in. Strong work, groomers!

Classic skied Green and Blue with two newer skiers. Phil and the grooming team have done an exceptional job with skate deck and classic track. Solid pole plants. Minimal debris. Skiing pretty fast. A lot of Birkie skiers enjoying the crisp, sunny day today. By their account, Black was skiing well also.

Well worth the 2+ hour drive from Tosa to ski these perfectly groomed trails. Even the 6 degree temps were just fine because the trails were so great. I skied the black twice with a variation on the blue once. Deep tracks, and great skate deck. Fast conditions. I have never skied here before but I highly recommend the drive from the southern part of the state where we have no snow. The steep climbs and winding down hills were the closest to the conditions we will see at the Birkie that I have seen all season.

No need for Phil's magic today! The 1-2 inches of snow covered the ice of earlier in the week and made skating a lot of fun although slow early as it was cold. The classic track looked good with some snow in the track in places. Tomorrow should be good there as the snow will hold up and there's a ski jumping competition.

Phil says trails survived the warm up. He touched up trails Wednesday. The area at start is hard pan but once on trails, nirvana. Skate deck was scratched up for perfect edging. Skated green and blue plus field with headlamp, there are a few thin areas back side of field easy to double pole thru. Tracks are still present through out, never jumped in them. They looked glazed with minimal debris. This weekend is winter carnival with lots of activities. Expect chalet area to be busy.
