Conditions were still very good with just sparse debris in some places. Classic tracks looked good too.

Kudos to the groomer making the best they could of the classic track. It was my fastest ski yet this winter. Thin spots but great skiing.

Skated all the trails this evening. While Oak Hill/Red is better than expected, there are a few other thin spots on common trails. A few spots of debris I was able to chuck off the trail, and everything else (very small) is quite avoidable. Conditions are moderately slow and sticky today throughout, likely due to the slightly warmer temps. It also looks like trail walkers are back- please redirect and educate if you happen to see them! All in all, worth it, but don't expect record speeds. Many thanks to the county staff for a great job with the grooming across the system.

Skated all the trails today, and was pleasantly surprised at the conditions. A bit more snow than just a couple days ago, and freshly groomed this morning. Still a few iffy spots on Oak Hill (should be avoidable), but all around good enough that we switched from B to good skis after doing a full red loop. Nice to see that it is also smoothing out on the far sections of Kings/Yellow. Especially appreciated the parks staff keeping an eye out for the errant walker who likes to tramp on Red. All in all, very nice conditions, and looking forward to many more- thanks county staff for keeping up with it all!

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skate skied all the trails this evening, using B skis. There are some places on a few trails where it's nearly impossible to avoid obstacles, so I listed rock skis here. All told, with as little new snow as we have had things are holding up well. The inevitable footprints have now appeared but they are mostly off to the side of the trail. A few tricky spots on Oak Hill/Red, and the cut-through on Blue is showing some dirt/grass in spots, but most of yellow is actually fairly well packed. Do expect little grip and a challenging finish on the last uphill back to the trail start, but an enjoyable ski is still to be had across Neshota.

I skied the Red and Oak loop today. There were a few exposed rocks and sticks but it was easy to avoid them. Conditions were the best I have experienced all season -- because this was my first time out this season. :-).

Skated all the trails this evening. Snow is actually generally fast, but lots of potential hazards to look out for, including a few exposed rocks and sticks. A bit of dirty and thin snow on the up hills of Red/Oak Hill, but actually some softer and deeper snow once at the top. Certain sections have been visibly skied quite a bit, while others seem freshly groomed and very easy going. Definitely better width for skating than previously this season. All told, I would place it between B and rock for an enjoyable ski without getting nervous for a potential scratch. Many thanks to the county groomers for making the best of things!

Skied all the trails at dusk today, while a light dusting continued to fall. Lots of snow, and while the whole system seemed groomed earlier today it is still really soft on top. Trails look mostly in good shape, although the classic tracks impede a bit (and sometimes quite a bit) on the skate lane, especially on the right side of the trail. I don't remember the trails (all but red) being double-tracked, so maybe better to go classic style if a narrower lane is a concern. You can use good skis if you don't do Red/Oak Hill, as there is plenty of base. Going uphill on Oak was harder than it needed to be, mainly because of the soft and light snow, but you also may need to ski over the classic tracks a few times to keep up momentum. A few tricky spots and exposed stuff there, which is why I say B skis. Only 2-3 other folks there while I was there, and as quiet and peaceful as can be. Thankfully no walkers punching holes into the trail yet- let's hope it stays that way all season! All in all, a worthwhile ski so close, and grateful for the county groomers.
