These are the conditions that make you think, "Maybe I should try another Birkie". It was lightning fast. I skate skied all the trails. Solid skate deck with a sugar snow top. A light snow falling when I arrived turning to sunshine made for a gorgeous day.

The trails were scratched up in the morning (thank you groomers). Trails were hard and smooth. No ruts or bumps. Overall in good condition with some sections being excellent and other areas that you would lose an edge from time to time. The pine areas had some debris that could be skied through but would grab your ski at times. Downhills were fast and flat and easy to control. Back side of the purple loop was the best. It was definitely worth the hour plus drive.

This morning was one of those fortunate mornings where i got to ski on fresh corduroy, immediately after the groomer had gone through. The light corduroy covered a solid skate deck making for very fast conditions. I skied the purple, red and brown trails and saw only one small patch of ice. There is a bit of dirty trail as you go through areas covered by Evergreens. No classic track but that didn't stop the Elkhart Lake phy ed class from enjoying a morning on the brown trail.

The skate deck was awesome this afternoon. Classic tracks are iced over and nothing can be done until we get some new snow. Mark put over 3 hrs today, while Jeff and Terry hit it hard Tuesday. New groomer Mike broke the snowmobile mirror and was getting stuck on the Black Trail.

I skied the green loop but used the red loop to access is as the pine section was narly. Mark Sharon was grooming as I skied. The whole system is up and running but, again, I avoided the pine plantations. Conditions were fast with a good edge on the green.

The base at Greenbush survived the warm temps of the past two days in pretty decent shape. Conditions were somewhat icy, but all trails were groomed this morning, which took out ruts and scratched things up enough for skaters to get a decent edge. Most of classic track was groomed over this morning and plans are to reset when we get some more snow. As expected, Red and Green Trails in the best shape. Winds brought some debris onto the trails and you have to use caution on the steeper downhills. Not quite the Nordic Heaven we have enjoyed the past couple of weeks, but we're still skiing at Greenbush. By the way, rumor has it that one of the "Big Boys" was in training to take over grooming on the Black Trail, so classic skiers who think this trail is special should keep an eye on this development.

Trails still snow covered but very soft/sticky/slow. Took me 15 minutes longer to do a 10k Sunday than it had Saturday. Grateful to get some skiing in and impressed with the groomers. Would have loved it had it been late March or April. On Feb 2nd it was depressing to ski in 45-degrees and push through the slush. Hoping for cold nights this week and better conditions next weekend.

Very warm day, but still good skiing. The tracks were about 50% depth but still pretty clean. They were getting really thin in the evergreens, but no bare spots yet. Skate deck was mostly firm. I don't know if the trails will make it through another warm day.

Great ski conditions! Very enjoyable! Snow on the downhills was soft for easier speed control. Classic skied green, purple, and brown loops. Thought of doing black loop, but it didn’t have tracks set.

Excellent! Beautiful conditions continue. A fresh groom made for tip-top conditions. Thanks groomers.
