Trail Reports

2022-2023 season
Reports 11 to 16 of 16    Month: Mar | Jan | Dec
Thursday, December 29, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The warm temps made it a little slow but the skate deck was firm and the tracks were good. Little or no debris in the trail. Very good conditions.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Lot was 3/4 full with mostly skiers out. New fat bike trail looked like fun so will have to come back another time to bike. Skate skied nearly all of the trails in which all were in great condition-some tree debris from recent storm. Skied in the tracks some and they were fast as well as the skate deck. Someone punched holes in the ski deck by walking on it off Washburn Trailhead.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Washburn was rolled on Thursday, with the intention of grooming today. So, this morning the entire system was re-tracked and the skate deck was refurbished. With cold temperatures it should firm up nicely. Definitely you can use those good skis.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It was just rolled but not tracked. Lots of snow still on the trees. The skate deck was soft and slow due the cold temps. No tracks anywhere.

Perfect corduroy, fast snow, deep tracks. Winter wonderland. The scenery is unbelievable. Not many skiers? Why go north?

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Full depth and well formed classic tracks. A perfect blue kick day with snow still clinging to the trees. Skate lanes were combed and remained pristine. I did not see a single skate skier or skate track during my 3 1/2 hour classic ski. Full coverage on the entire trail. Could have used good skis. Looks like a lot of work was done to get the trail ready after the storm, with a really good result.
