It was fast skiing out today. The tracks were pretty slick, and definitely a waxless day. My buddies skating said it was good and fast. There were a couple of pretty thin spots, but they were easily stepped around. I had no worries at all about my skis at all. The groomers have done a nice job.

Boulder was great with a firm skate deck from side to side. Fast, but you can still get a good skate edge on Bear Paw and Blue Ox. Track sets are very good too. We took off our skis and walked down the 100 feet to the lake crossing and enjoyed the Ski Den.

Great conditions. A dusting of fresh snow took care of any icy spots in tracks. Skate deck looked very good also.

We classic skied, skate skied and skijored today just on the Bear Paw loop today and it was awesome! The classic tracks were in great shape as well as the skate deck. We were surprised at how few people were on the trails there today! The lake did not look safe to cross as there was some standing water/slush. Thank you to all those who followed the rules and kept their dogs on leash (there were a few off and there is a leash rule.)

I parked in the East Parking lot trailhead. The Super Highway was dreamland smooth. I'd say 95% of the trails was perfect for skating. The deck is firm from side to side and the track sets were great and not icy. The only locations to exercise caution are at the new access to the lake where there is very little snow, and in the reroute on Nine Pine where the reroute was made for the expansion of gravel pit operations. Just keep an eye out for a couple of roots or rocks in that short stretch.

19 degrees to start - firm deck. Really nice out there. The short hill up from the lake crossing to the south loops is down to the dirt, careful there but awesome thru nine pine, blue ox, and Bear Paw. Classic sets looked a little thin in spots. Worth the extra minutes to get there!

Brrr! It was -14F when I pulled into the East parking lot this morning. I only saw one other skier, and unfortunately a biker on the ski trails (we had a conversation). The trails were in great shape. The tracks were well set, with only one bare spot that I saw. There were some windblown spots, but nothing bad to speak of.

Trails looked like they groomed this morning. Great conditions and report from a skier of seeing a bobcat. Nice classic tracks.

Trails were great. Not as much snow as Duluth, so there were a couple areas where branches were poking through the tracks, but the trail was flat, and firm. Incredible to be skiing on such good trails so early in December. There was a cut your own tree event on Saturday where people were out walking on the 2.3k loop, but they did little damage because the trail was so firm. The other loops were awesome.
