Trail Detail
Notes
Located 18 miles north of Duluth, the groomed trails are in nice primitive outdoor setting. The trails feature the "Wolfski's Ski Den" warming shack, open daily sunrise to sunset. In addition to the 21 kilometers of classical skiing, there will also be 11 kilometers groomed for skate-skiing. Trails are groomed Fridays and Mondays, and/or as needed. No fee or Minnesota State Ski Pass is required.Trail Reports

Trails were groomed and allowed to set overnight. This resulted in just about perfect conditions for skate and classic today. I'm always amazed at the high quality grooming done here that is rarely matched by other trails in the Duluth area. Definitely worth the short drive.

26 F, beautiful blue skies, copious amount of snow, wonderful grooming, what a great ski at Boulder this afternoon. Beth skated while I was striding, and we both had excellent conditions. A few places where the tracks were glazed from yesterday's sun, but most of those are on a flat. Very rare soft right pole plant where the snow had drifted. Best glide of the year, and yet Swix extra blue provided plenty of kick. Keep these days coming!

Nice deep tracks, in great shape! Beautiful day! Snow was fast at the beginning but got sticky as temperatures warmed. Skied Nine Pine, Blue Ox, and Lonesome Grouse.

Fantastic afternoon at Boulder! The tracks were definitely soft, but still fun to ski on and provided a great workout! The Blue Ox trail had quite a few paw prints from a four-legged friend, while the Nine Pine trail was nearly immaculate. Thank you to the groomers for getting the trail ready after that 12"+ storm!

No grooming this morning at Boulder, (they usually groom Friday and Monday mornings after Thursday and Sunday Dogs-Allowed days) but the tracks were nicely skied in when I arrived about 10, and there was about an inch of light snow on the skate lane, which did not cost much in glide, and gave a velvety feel. I was surprised how little debris there was, given yesterday's very strong wind. Always beautiful in the woods at Boulder!

Lots of cute pups on the trails today for dog day. Trails were groomed overnight, but still got two or so fresh inches on top. Tracks were well skied in. The fresh snow sure makes everything look good!

We skied the Rolling Pin, Timber Cruiser and the Otter Run trails this morning. Temps were hovering around 3 degrees and the sun was out. Tracks were deep and firm, with a fresh dusting of light snow which really slowed us down. Signs of wildlife (and boot prints) were evident on each of the trails.
