Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
The manmade loop was severely damaged by the heat/wind/rain on Wednesday, creating some bare spots. However, there is still a significant amount of base, though it is solid ice, pocked, and has a bit of debris. It is not skiable at this time, and is officially closed to skiing. Check back to see when the trail is open for skiing again.

Called Lapham office at 8am, they reported skate deck groomed early morning and condition were good. Arrived 11am and skied until 1pm in 44 degrees. The skate deck stayed firm with no soft spot for good and enjoyable conditions. The manmake snow loop is .7K with 1-2 feet of base which helps to keep the surface cold during warm temperatures.

Solid, firm base, a little icy, but with a shallow layer of loose corn snow in most areas. Skating was okay to good. Striding looked a bit more challenging. Old tracks are a bit icy. Some dirty spots. Downhill at Summerstage is the best part of the loop.

Started at 12pm 44 degrees and the conditions were surprisingly good. The .7K manmade loop was groomed with the Piston Bully last night and was still hard packed with loose snow which was still ok at 2pm despite a few mushy spots. It seems the base is 1-2 feet which keeps the surface cool so it does not get mushy when temperatures exceed 40 degrees. It was enjoyable as I skied for 12+ miles. Thanks to the groomers.

Great conditions for skate and stride on the man made snow loop. Overnight grooming, with new tracks set, provided a loose layer of corn snow on a firm base. Skiers of all ages and abilities were having a blast.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The pond loop held up well despite the rain on Friday. The dusting of snow on Saturday helped to freshen up the loop. The .7km pond loop was groomed by the Piston bully. The skate deck is firm and level. The classic track was reset and is in good to excellent condition.

Man made loop got about an inch of rain overnight and an inch of snow this morning. There is still plenty of compacted base. Trail was not groomed this morning. The rain either soaked in and froze or ran off. the new snow bound nicely to the dense icy surface. Overall, skate was okay, but not as nice as yesterday. Stride tracks were slow due to the new snow.
