Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions for skate and stride on the manmade loops this morning. Overnight grooming with the PB provided perfect corduroy on the skate deck and solid, clean tracks for striding. It was pretty lonely at the park - just me, a couple of other skiers, and two bus loads of kids from the Urban Ecology Center, who were hiking on the Ice Age Trail. Need to get them on skis! Classic track was, in my opinion, perfect - except for a few small pine cones at one spot. We are very fortunate. Note - good ski rating is for the manmade loop. Heed other reports for the rest of the ski trails in the park.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out early morning today. I tilled and groomed the entire man-made trail system. I also tilled, groomed and reset tracks on Marks Park and Beatles Loop. The Man Made Trail system is in excellent skiing condition. The new snow has the entire trail system in good skiing condition. The DNR has done a really good job in grooming all the trails off of the man-made. I skied the green, purple, and black loops Tuesday using good skis. It was great to get out in the woods and ski in the beautiful hills of Lapham Peak!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The upper Black Loop accessible from either the upper parking lot or skiing up from the bottom, is in very good shape. The natural snow that arrived over the weekend provided very good corduroy this afternoon as well as solid, clean classic tracks. There are, however, a couple rocks, the first of which is easy to see while the second I only heard!! They were both on uphills in the roller coaster section that ends where one can either climb "The Wall" or ski around it to the left. There are five short but steep uphills prior to The Wall. The third one features a bench on the left side at the top, and just 5 meters or so before the bench, and chunk of granite is sticking out on the left side. The other is on the fifth of five hills so keep your eyes open.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
I skied the black, blue and purple loops this afternoon. The fresh snow was very slow compared to the man-made loop. No surprise given the low single digit temps. There were a few exposed roots and a couple thin patches, but I felt like I was able to navigate around them well enough. Several large rocks were exposed on "the wall". I personally would only ski off the man-made snow with B skis or lower.

Conditions at Lapham are excellent. I classic skied on the man-made loops from 2PM to 3PM today. The Track is excellent. The grooming left some loose snow on top of the skate lane on the Magic Carpet downhill so it was very safe today. Others said the skiing is good off the man-made also.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
After the new snow this morning the Piston Bully was out grooming. The skate deck was tilled and a new classic track was set. The conditions are about as good as they get. The DNR was out grooming the trails off the man made loop. I would expect conditions to be good throughout the rest of the park.

I would say Lapham got about 3 inches of snow today, which is good. Today on the manmade loops, conditions were soft and somewhat slow. Tracks on the regular loops were skied-in, but tracks in the Field-Playground loops were newly set by the PB and in great condition.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out Saturday night grooming up the fresh snow we received. The entire man made loop was groomed and a new classic track was set. Conditions are perfect. Beattle’s loop and Mark’s park were groomed and tracks were set. Enjoy the trails. At least it snowed :).

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out again tilling and setting track. New snow was falling at the time while I was grooming. The classic tracks maybe a little wind blown but should be in overall good condition. The skate deck is in excellent shape. The snow makers have been busy filling in some low spots and touching up the entrance to the trail. Beattle’s loop was groomed and Mark’s park was groomed as well. Expect the trails to be busy today so please follow the no parking signs. Go pack.
