Skate skied 12 miles Sunday afternoon. The extended loop (0.75mi = 1.2km) was very fast with ice under granular, man-made snow/ice. It was effortless skiing compared to other times i've been out this year. Hope to see more trails open soon.

Elver is groomed and snow is getting faster by the minute. World Cup conditions. Skate and classic. Get there before the warmup!

Elver was groomed twice Monday, during the snow and around 5 pm in the evening. Trails are in very good condition, nice firm classical track and skate deck. I've stayed on the West side to avoid the wind which has covered any exposed trails and enjoyed good but slow skiing. -15F Wednesday was markedly slower than 0F Tuesday. If you can handle the cold, it's worth it.

The East has been groomed and is in very good condition, the run alongside Gammon Road has been groomed also. Hills were in good shape except for the winding hill down the face of the East hill. Loose snow most of the way made slow skiing.

The trails were beautiful. I classiced and the track was good in most places, but washed out in one easily avoidable spot, and uneven at points due to lots of traffic. Once it firms up, it'll be perfect. The skate deck was soft, but had good coverage. Lights went on at 5:35. Many thanks to the groomers and the snow goddesses!

Contrary to the Elver webpage all trails were not groomed. The East had not been touched as of 3:30 pm and West was being groomed as I skied. The skate deck was still being rolled and was quite soft in spots, the middle hill was not groomed as well. The hill at the end of the West loop was bad. Narrow and choppy with a high bank and lots of loose snow. The groomer got stuck halfway down. Quite slow and not worth the climb back up. Very good classical and skaters were flying, I'm sure it will be even better. Also at 5:20 last night and 5 tonight the lights were not on for the West.

Great snow on manmade, solid base on West End trails, East End trails not open (as far as I could tell). A few places where a bit of grass was poking through, but nothing unavoidable or treacherous. Only manmade is tracked. It's quite good, get out and celebrate winter finally arriving in Madison!

The fresh powder at Elver has the full trail system very close to great skiing. West trails were rolled, but not groomed yet, and it looked like some ventured out anyway. The snowmaking loop was in great shape and the skate deck, along with the hill climb were still very soft with all of the new cold powder.

The loop at Elver Park is still going strong, and offers a good almost-kilometer of skiing amidst a sea of brown. The skate deck has become very sugary and a bit icy in others with the lower temps, combined with the man-made snow. Overall, it is very skiable and the classic tracks are nice and firm. Get out and enjoy it!

The made snow survives! Less than 1k was groomed. Full coverage. Some dirt, but overall, amazing that we still have a loop.
