2018-2019 season

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
So great to be skiing the outer loop again! Plenty of base; race skis are no problem. Snow a little slow from the cold, but the skate deck was firm and the skiing enjoyable. Grooming was poor on some parts of the blue loop - moguls are almost starting to form around mile 5.5-6.5. Regardless, still one of the best places to ski in this corner of the state. Get out and enjoy it while it lasts!

Trails are well covered and soft as expected. Classic tracks are set and in pretty good shape. Good skis are no problem. I used them on the downs and some flats and never saw bare ground. Beautiful winter wonderland out there. Get out there and help pack it down.

Trails we packed but soft yesterday at 2 pm. Beautiful skiing. No tracks set because of equipment problems. Trail info line still says that today. Come on WI DNR!

Skating trail was uneven but still ok. At times I used the nice solid tracks by double poling. Coverage was ok with just a few spots of ground showing.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skied the blue trail at noon. Tracks were perfect at times with occasional easily avoidable surface dirt wearing through at times. Best was through the pines. A few rocks to avoid on steep uphills. No classic track set on short section from N8 to purple intersection. Bumps make some downhills a challenge. More snow should smooth those out.

Very nice job grooming considering the lower amount of snow. The white and purple were rolled and tracked, very nice Sunday afternoon ski! Please keep up the good work as we continue to get snow, pleasant surprise over last season.

Skied the blue and green loops. All trails have been groomed for skating. Firm skate track. Tracks were set over most of the trail. Tracks were not set on the second to final blue loop section.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All loops were packed and tracked, and the grooming appeared excellent given the amount of dry snow (approximately 6") and lack of base. Classic skied the Red and Green loops late Sunday afternoon. The Red loop appeared to have slightly better snow coverage and deeper tracks. The tracks were full depth in most sections on both loops, with very few washed out areas, and a few twigs and grasses poking through. Did not notice any icy sections, however several bigger hills were starting to get thin on the uphill side.

Great conditions, groomed nicely, a bit soft but not bad for the day after a good snowfall. A few of the steeper uphills are churned up a bit, but not a really big deal. I skied the long blue loop, and all were groomed for classic.
