Pretty good. There were some icy patches near the trailhead. I skied the Blue and Red loops. It looked like the skate deck was freshly scratched up today. The tracks were about 50-60%. Some debris in the woods, nice and clean in the fields. The easy and intermediate sections of the Blue loop were pretty good and the hills were still in decent shape. The difficult section of the Blue was a bear. No tracks and an uneven deck with a huge rut down the middle. Some thin spots throughout, but no bare spots. Still worth the trip.

NIce classic ski at Nordic, late morning/midday today. Conditions are good to very good in most of the park for classic and skate. There are a few icy areas, but all are skiiable. Thanks to the groomers.

Good ski overall this afternoon. Groomed this morning, some bumps and ruts in a lot of areas due to the previous icy conditions, but groomer did good job to make it an enjoyable ski. Some of the steeper downhills were a bit icy, but not too sketchy.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We skied the purple and blue trails. Trails had not been groomed Sunday morning before we skied. On both, there was quite a bit of leaf and twig debris and the classic tracks were icy for the majority of the distance. Blue trail improved after 3 miles when the elevation is higher and there was less melt. I was on classic skis while skiing the blue but switched over to skating on a number of segments because there was better coverage outside of the classic tracks. Around mile 5.5-6.0, blue trail was not groomed and this made for some sketchy downhills. Snow is heavy and makes for a hard landing.

2" of new snow groomed this morning over a hard base made for enjoyable skiing. The white trail had been groomed and we were the first skiers following the groomer on the blue and orange. Coverage was good with no ruts. Thanks to the DNR hotline report of grooming this morning.

Bluebird skies over mostly solid cover mid-day. Groomers were out (thank you!). Pretty good (but not perfect), as trail needs more snow depth to even out the natural irregularities, as well as help groomers make a level skate deck on their multiple passes with a narrow groomer. Inner loops, including white, were flatter, and parts of blue were getting better as they day went on and groomers were somewhere ahead of me. Lots of classic skiers out also who all said tracks were great! A few easy to see rocks, many of which I picked up and threw to the side. A happy and terrific Tuesday in the Southern Kettles!

Good conditions today. About two inch base, some thin areas, steeper uphills a bit best up, mile seven was not groomed since Saturday, so a bit slick and icy, but overall a good ski.

The skate deck was uneven and had ruts and needed to be groomed. There was good coverage. There were many skiers for the holiday but it was not groomed due to the holiday. The DNR reported both Nordic and McMiller trails will be groomed tomorrow morning.

What a difference a day makes. Excellent conditions. Thanks to groomers for getting it in great shape so it wasn’t a rutted up icy course. Some of the best conditions I’ve ever skied at there.
