Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Freshly groomed this morning. The new snow, which continues to accumulate, was dog slow. Classic tracks improved the more they were skied in. Trails were beautiful and packed with skiers!

Really nice out there. Groomed yesterday, according to the city hotline. An inch or so of new snow as of noon and still snowing when we got off the trail. Tracks were holding up well.

Started at the parking lot on Lester River Road. The steep climb up to the main loop was in poor shape, with grass and bare ground showing through. From "A" and above it was fine, with deep firm tracks. About five of the electric lights were not functioning on the access loop and around the main A-B-C loop, so there are some dark stretches. If you have headlamps, bring them for extra illumination.

The cold weather has been kind to the trails. Classic tracks are as deep and firm as when they came forth from the groomer. Perfect conditions. Fast, but not scary.

Beautiful evening/night to be out. Completed the loop between points A to H. The classic tracks were in great shape! And the skiing with the full moon was cool. Thank you to the staff for making a great ski.

Best grooming job ever. Thank you for recognizing classic skiers are not a separate species. By moving the track in towards the center of the trail, I’m able to use my right ski pole and not totter on the edge so much!

Temps were 15° when I started just after 4pm. All trail segments were groomed earlier in the day and were solid and a little slow at times because of the snow being new. The grooming was great. Lester is awesome when there is good snow and recent grooming. Today was one of those days and it would be great to see the City continue its great grooming job on regular basis.

Just recently groomed. I skied around noon and was probably 5th skier to skate. Deck and tracks are great! No bare spots. Skating a little slow with colder temps.

Heard Lester had been groomed yesterday, so I was surprised and excited to find them grooming again this morning! Trail is actually in really good condition. Smooth and firm skate lane and the tracks looked and felt solid the few times I got in them. Groomers are doing an amazing job with the snow they have.
