Groomed recently with lots of drifting snow since the last grooming, but totally still skiable. The main challenge with Chester Bowl seems to be skiing around off-leash dogs. Despite that, it was an excellent night skiing!

Absolutely fantastic! Surprisingly, all trails were freshly groomed when I arrived even in the midst of a snow storm. Thank you to the groomers! No classic tracks, but that didn't stop the 6 classic skiers I saw out there! The trails were just soft enough to provide a little extra control on the downhills. The last climb next to the downhill lift is drifting in a bit, but it is a snow storm after all. I love to ski chester! Just watch out for unleashed dogs.

Unexpectedly caught the city groomer out and about while on a lil lunchtime schuss. A+ corduroy. Get it while it's good!

I headed to Chester on Sunday afternoon to sneak in a quick ski, and was completely rewarded! The trail was freshly groomed, probably Sunday morning with the downhill, and the walkers hadn't been out in force. There were only a couple of skate tracks in front of me. Completely perfect skiing, the 1" of fresh made a noticeable difference in the skate deck. Get out there!

The grooming is still fresh on Saturday morning. Nice skate deck all around the loop. Very firm trail. Get it while it's good.

One of the many pleasures in life is to arrive at a trailhead just as the groomer departs, especially at Chester Bowl. Weirdly, I almost feel guilty making fresh tracks on pristine cord, but I've hacked around enough through the footprints at Chester this year to believe that I've earned it. The only blemish in the trail were the frozen 8" deep post holes that have been there for the past couple weeks. Only a healthy dumping will erase those. Fortunately, they didn't hinder the ski experience. Just be careful not to stick a pole down one of those. The trail is very firm and will hopefully hold up through the weekend.

Very icy-hard and nearly unusable. There are hundreds of post-hole-depth footprints. The trail has been well-groomed all year but now appears abandoned. I had skate skis but could only double pole around the flat sections of the soccer fields. I hate to say it, but it was terrible tonight!

Chester was tilled up and it is in great condition! The tiller easily broke up the top layer of ice, leaving a perfect skate surface. There are a few places where the tiller was bouncing and leaving some waves. There are also some deep post holes in the middle of the trail from walkers during the warm spell. A couple of those holes are 12 to 18 inches deep so that was nearly comical to see, but watch out for them.

Good conditions. Fast and firm. Recently groomed with a coating of powdery snow on top. Some foot traffic but due to the firm conditions no post holing and it doesn't impact the skiability. No issues using good skis.

I had a very enjoyable evening ski this evening and I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the trail. The stadium was soft and post-holed, but trails are in good condition once you are out of the stadium. Surprisingly firm outside of a few segments and the walkers have not destroyed them yet.
