Skate lane freshened up at daylight this morning on all trails except the Lake trail. Classic tracks were left alone. With light dusting of snow we received, should be good conditions.

Thank you (Steve Thon) and your team. Trails were absolutely perfect for classic or skate. You have all done a phenomenal job battling this fickle winter. Enjoy everyone.

I just finished re-grooming the trails that are out in the open and were covered in wind blown snow. I did not groom the Staghorn or Red Pine loops because they are sheltered. There is lots of snow and a good skate deck with classic track. Go out and enjoy!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
On this cold and sunny day I ran into three other skiers skating. The tracks were solid. There was a short section without a track. Some debris here and there. The skate deck was well packed except a tricky section on the Lake trail. Steve has done wonders with the snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished grooming and setting a classic track on all trails. We were waiting to groom the new snow from Monday and Tuesday because more was forecast today but we didn't add anything today. We had about 5" of new snow to work with. You will see traces of former tracks and footprints on the trail. With all the debris we had before the snow I did not want to turn any of that up so couldn't groom out all the prior tracks. The result is a nice clean base and tracks. We will groom again after more snow. Enjoy!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed everything Sunday night. Due to a malfunction of the track setter it is only groomed for skating - no classic track. Most of the ruts groomed out so it should be nice for skating. The wind was blowing hard so we are still accumulating leaves and twigs on a daily basis. Hopefully we can set a track later this week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed everything this morning for both classic and skating. We must have about 8" of new snow, so things will be soft for awhile, especially the skate lane. One of the liabilities of having narrow trails in a nicely wooded area is that we get a lot of overhanging and broken branches. So...there is some debris on the trails and some trees leaning in on the edges. If you skate you can probably go around it all. The classic track runs through much of it. That's just the way it is.
Enjoy!
