Groomed all ski trails and rolled hiking trail today. Groomed a wide skate deck and dropped classic tracks for the full 4k loop (plus 1k and 2k turnoffs). Walking / dog trail on the left was also rolled. Everything is back in fine shape after recent rain. Two very small patches of grass coming through and are easily avoided. Two spots were a small puddle has frozen so it is a little icy; each spot less than 4ft long, so quickly passed over.

Sanity is returning as we dip below freezing and snow is covering the trail. Have rolled the skate deck but have not set classic tracks yet.

The trails are marked out with plowing stakes, and they are plenty skiable with the fresh snow we have had today. Enough snow has fallen and the temps have been warm enough recently that you don't need to worry about scraping up your skis on an icy base. A bit slushy in some places, though. No recent grooming, and the shelter is closed for the week.

The skate deck was surprisingly good. Classic tracks were also skiable, but with quite a lot of leaves and other debris to muck up kick wax. (I used skin skis.) There definitely were bare spots here and there, but overall it was fun skiing. Not sure how many more warm days it will be able to take, however.

Skating deck is in prime condition for a fast flat ski. The same can be said about the classical tracks, which are holding firm in spite of heavy use.

Put a fresh groom on the skate deck and was looking really nice! A few dirty/bare spots but otherwise snow coverage looks good. Left the classic tracks alone as they were solid on the entire course. Definitely good skiing to be had at Hiawatha right now...enjoy!

Wow. Hiawatha was as good as I've seen it in a long time... maybe ever with the addition of the walking/skijoring side path to keep the foot and paw traffic off the ski deck, and a super wide skate deck. I skated on that firm, expansive skate deck, but the classic tracks also looked good. There were a very few grassy spots that were easily avoided. Kudos to the groomer(s) for a great job! There were lots of folks out enjoying the trails. I didn't see (m)any passes on folks (except my own) and hope those who enjoy the groomed trails will support this great grooming through the Minneapolis parks ski pass. I know I really appreciate that grooming at Hiawatha has received attention of late and hope support keeps it going.

Please remember to have a trail pass, and please keep all dogs on the left hand / walking trail. This includes ski-joring.

Classic skied late morning just as light snow started to fall. Leaf debris really not an issue and I could count the thin areas with a little grass showing on one hand. Never had to leave the tracks. Beautiful ski.

Conditions are gorgeous after another inch this morning. A Thursday evening grooming will make for a beautiful Friday ski!
