Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The groomers have nicely rolled the whole course after Monday morning's snowfall (thanks!). That being said, there was plenty of blowing and drifting as is usual on the golf course and as a result the trail had a lot of icy or bare patches that have potential for ski scratches. No classic tracks yet; we still need more snow!

Great to be out for a quick ski in south Minneapolis! Decent "golf course" conditions. As a heads up, the skate deck was a bit icy, rutted, and lumpy at lunchtime on Friday. Maybe it will soften up in the sun. Good snow coverage throughout though. It is easy to avoid the few leafy and bare spots. Classic skiers might opt for crusty touring just off the main trail as the tracks are not well defined or consistent. Just a friendly reminder to keep dogs on leash and to stick to the multi-use path on the left if skijoring. The main ski trail is getting chewed up from dog paws (and a few human runners).

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Surprisingly great coverage after all the days above freezing. A fair amount of leaves poking through and a couple parts near golf cart paths that are getting uneasily close to the pavement, but still fine skiing out there to be had.

Super conditions! Easy to get a long glide and V2 most of the way! There were some classic tracks but they didn't appear to be very deep. Thank you groomers!

Really great skiing this afternoon. I used my best (ie, only) skis, and there was great snow coverage. Good conditions for a learner.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomers were out this morning. All trails (4k, 2k, 1k and walking trails) are all set. No classic tracks down yet. Snow covers the trail in all areas, though in some low points the snow is quite wet.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Groomers out this morning. 4k trail is fully rolled, as well as the 1k and 2k loops, and the walking trail (which is on the left of the ski trail). Snow was wet and heavy. A few spots have a little grass popping through, but they are few and far between, and easily avoided. No classic tracks down yet; we need a little more snow to set tracks.

Hiawatha groomers rolled this morning. There are some exposed areas, but overall decent coverage. Rock skis.
