I'm going to go out on a limb and say the conditions on the Columbia skate deck right now are great to excellent. I set new classic tracks tonight as well... Not as deep as I would've liked but not too shabby either. Nice coverage on the entire course, the only spot with minor grass showing is at the top of the steep clubhouse hill. If you stay north of the tracks you could use your best skis. If you venture out to Columbia on Wednesday you will be pleasantly surprised, guaranteed.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
We attempted to ski in the classic tracks but they were practically buried by drifting snow due to the extremely windy conditions this afternoon. We gave up! We'll l try again later this week, assuming it will be groomed and less windy.

Rumor has it that Columbia is the perfect loop for your pre-Birkie taper. You can rest your legs on the mostly flat to rolling terrain that Columbia has to offer. The fresh snow has made for great skiing. The skate deck is in excellent shape, and the classic track is shallow but in fair condition. Ski Columbia! Finished grooming at about 10 pm tonight.

Just groomed Columbia and it looks great. It still will have a few icy spots under the fresh snow, but very skiable. Classic tracks are thin to excellent, but also very skiable. We are back in business at Columbia! Enjoy!

Packed in the new snow we got this evening. The skate deck looks great. Due to an equipment problem I wasn't able to set new tracks, but the existing ones were still visible, and I think this fluffy snow will pack down nicely for the first classic skier. It should be pretty good skiing tomorrow at Columbia.

Groomed Columbia this morning. Wasn't able to use the teeth for the last 3/4 lap, but it looks pretty good. The two pictures are the best and worst of the course. It's going to be fast at Columbia, but I'm sure you'll hold your edge. Left classic alone. Enjoy Columbia today!

Columbia suffered after the thaw/freeze, but we spent some time chewing it up to reduce the amount of ice in the wind blown areas. I was pretty happy how well it came out. There are some icy spots, but skaters should be able to hold an edge throughout the whole course.
Classic tracks are shallow but I think the whole course is really skiable. Columbia skiers, I think we're in decent shape. Although... let's all "think snow"!

Classic track are there, but mostly ice. Despite some morning snow, the overnight melt/rain made for difficult conditions. No bare spots.

We got a coating of snow today so I was able to run the groomer and capture the fresh stuff. I made same very shallow classic tracks as well. Very warm and soft on top and likely a bit icy in spots. It actually rained a bit which doesn't help but looks pretty good to me. Let us know how it is if you get out.

I used the good hard track skis and had a great time. Good skate surface throughout, good coverage on those off-camber step turn corners. Classic track was shallow but well-formed on 99% of the loop. I didn't go to the East side but the trail up to the bridge was very good.
