Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied Ferndell Turtleville Hastings and Ishnala loop before sunrise. Skating was awesome! with fresh 1" snow on top of firm crusty base. fast but very controllable. Best ski at ML this season. Get out and enjoy before the next big snow!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All of the parks ski trails were packed on and combed on Friday after the last ice/snow fall. Tracks were laid on Fern Dell but proved problematic so nothing else tracked. Skated most of the trails today on one inch of new snow with another inch falling while we skied. Skating was very good and most enjoyable. Enough new snow has fallen for more grooming and hopefully better classic tracks.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Ferndale, Turtleback, and Hastings are all fully covered, with hard deck and fast. A classic skier said almost all had shallow track. I did not try woods/hills trails - park lists them as ungroomed - but they look covered from the road.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good conditions at the park today. What a difference warmer temps make for gliding. Except for a little leaf litter and pine needles, the tracks were in good shape. Ishnala was especially beautiful today. Cold temps tonight should make for good skiing tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
When I arrived at 2pm the temp was -15F which made skiing slow. I classic skied Fern Dell and Turtleville loops. Tracks were firm but in some areas had oak leaves and pine needles. There were some short areas where wind blown snow filled the tracks. I then tried to ski Hastings loop but only did a small portion because the tracks were soft and slow. Overall, with the bright sunny skies, it was a pretty day to ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skate skied Fern Dell and Turtleville, both skate deck and classical tracks were groomed mid-day. Beautiful classical tracks, skate deck is wide and smooth but soft yet with a good 6 to 8" base. All other trails groomed and in very good condition. Very cold fresh powder made for a slow pace but worth the effort.

Classic skiied fern dell, hasting, pioneer and ishnala. Overall tracks are firm and in good condition. There are some small dirt spots along with some areas where grass is pushing thru especially under pine trees.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
4 to 5" fresh snow, most trails packed (except Hastings). Fern Dell, Turtleville, N.W loops, beginner loops combed. No tracks set. Did not ski Pioneer or Ishnala. B skis on F.D. & Turtleville, rock skis on N.W. Slow in the cold but so nice to ski close to home. Thanks Mirror Lake S.P.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
I skied Fern Dell and Turtleville late this afternoon. The the trails have been packed and groomed. There are some thin spots and dirt showing in the usual areas. The skate skiing was good. I would once again avoid the NW loops and Ishnala if you do not want to scratch your skis due to more rocks on those trails.

[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Scratched around Fern Dell and Turtleville trails. Almost all covered but lot of sticks and leaves, a few rocks. But, skiable. Mostly shaded, about 3-4" base.
