Wow! If you like skiing first after the groomer, striding in full depth tracks, with tons of snow everywhere, you should have been at Jack Lake this afternoon! And, it's only going to get better as the fresh grooming sets. Carpe Skiem!

The trails were in good shape, considering the snow coverage. The classic tracks were hard/icy at the start, but loosened up and were pretty good as the day went on. Some debris, but easily avoidable. Skate deck was firm but got better as well. First time for us at Jack and definitely will make a return trip.

Tracks were a little icy with very little tree debris on them. It was a very nice afternoon for a 50+ guy to get back into skiing after 30 years. Thank you to the maintenance staff.

Fast striding this morning on glazed, well set and clean tracks. 30 degrees, cloudy, and misting throughout our ski. Super great skiing. Carpe Skiem!

Great ski today at Jack Lake both classic and skate, I would say 99.9 percent clean snow, minimal dirt mostly on skate deck and most of that was on the north 1/2 of the Lowland loop. We used skins which worked great on the hard tracks. Skate deck was almost too hard, could barely get an edge in but it was fast. Kudos to whoever cleared the brush as good as they did , not perfect but wow they did alot of work. We used our best skis and easily avoided the minimal dirt spots.

I skied here both Friday and Saturday. Grooming was done on Friday. Great conditions. Saturday was faster than Friday but still well set tracks and a skate deck that you can still get an edge. Minimal debris on the trail. A few low hanging branches.

What a fantastic surprise to experience Jake Lake today! To think it was raining 48 hours ago and to enjoy excellent mid-season skiing today is hard to imagine, let the pictures tell the story. 3/4 depth tracks cut on a good portion of the network. The groomer commented that the base was a full 5". Beautiful glazed woods added to the joy. Carpe Skiem!

After 1-2" of overnight/morning snow over the hard crust, it was a wonderful ski today. There are still some thin spots and some debris in places, so expect some scratches. It also rained the night before, that then froze on all of the trees and branches. It pulled down some of the branches in front of classic tracks. The classic tracks are still very well set from multiple skiers today. I skied the green loop, highland loop, lowerland loop and moose pass. However, the lowerland loop looks like it has old snowmobile tracks in it.
