Trail Reports

2021-2022 season
Reports 51 to 55 of 55    Month: Feb | Jan
Saturday, January 8, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skied down from South Wirth onto Brownie and over to Cedar. A few places were some material was exposed, but once on the lakes the coverage is pretty good. A couple of wet/ice sections that you can ski around. The tunnel between Brownie and Cedar was well covered. Skate deck on Brownie was holding up fairly well, but on Cedar it had turned to mashed potatoes by late afternoon. Classic tracks looked better, mainly due to the high touring traffic.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed for skate skiing on Isles and Cedar, could not set tracks yet for classic but hopefully by tomorrow. There is enough snow on the lakes except for some slushy areas, and the bridges are all ice, although Eric Sumner spent several hours to get snow into Brownie tunnel and was also working on the other bridges.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The tunnel between Brownie Lake and Cedar Lake is now snow covered. It will take some packing to firm up, but you no longer need ice skates to get through.
