Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed a path for the walkers/bikers on all three lakes and put out signs to help them know where to walk. Last year this seemed to help keep them off the ski trails once people know where they should be. Most of the trails are in decent shape but keep an eye out for icy spots. Enjoy, as the lakes are always fun.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Went out and groomed Lake of the Isles this morning as well as the Kenilworth Channel. Classic tracks were reset and a walking/fat biking path was laid down to the shoreline side of the nordic trail. Help spread the word to use that instead of the ski trail when walking/biking to avoid tire and foot tracks please. Signage will be going up to direct traffic soon. Snow was also shoveled under the bridges and packed heading to Cedar...if I didn't have a day job, I woulda hit Cedar as well! Get out and enjoy it.

Really nice morning ski across Isles -> Cedar -> Brownie. Isles was just being re-groomed this morning. A few icy spots on Cedar but the Kenilworth connector between Isles and Cedar is beautiful and the little alley bridge (that's what I call it) between Cedar and Brownie is open as well. Solid 7-8 km loop of flat, relaxing skiing.

Nice ski at dawn on Lake of the Isles this morning. A few patches of ice and occasionally the tracks disappear, but otherwise very good conditions.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Went around Cedar twice from 7-9 pm. Nice night, multiple classic tracks to hop on to avoid icy patches, enough snow everywhere else to get a good groove going. Lots of use, lots of foot traffic, lots of fun, was able to stride and double pole without overexerting myself. Be aware, right smack dab in the middle of the classic tracks in the southwest corner of the lake is a pile of dog feces. Had a headlamp so I avoided this iceberg but that is the kind of wax you might not want on your skis. Other than that, no complaints!

First time this year skiing Lakes, Brownie -> Cedar -> Isles. Great job grooming Monday and laying down snow under bridges. Some icy spots that may not be good for skis but easy to pass/work around. It was a good (not quite great but close) experience.

Chain of Lakes all groomed for skate Monday night. Butler, Bog, Wirth Lake have some thin spots/leaves, but are in pretty nice condition. Brownie, Cedar and Isles are in excellent condition.

Started at Glenwood and skied down to the lakes. Trails were very firm and slow with the cold temperatures, but holding up well. Brownie Lake was pretty skiable with just a few icy sections to contend with and the tunnel had snow in it. Cedar Lake was a different story. Churned up with deep frozen ruts. I turned around after a few minutes. I'd stay off the lakes until we get more snow or they groom a new path.

Connection between Brownie and Cedar looks great! So nice to see it completely covered in snow and totally skiable.
