I softened-up the skate deck this morning on most trails on the south side of the river. Some ruts in the skate deck, especially on the turns. Classic track looks solid in most areas. I didn't reset any of the classic track. Good luck Korte and Birkie skiers. We still have good snow down here to ski in - enjoy!

I finished grooming south of the river today. All trails in the system have now been groomed since Monday's snow. There is a nice skate deck and classic track in most of the system. The wet snow caused some rutting in the skate deck but I was able to groom a lot of that out today. The corners are where you will find most of the ruts. Get out and enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
One to two inches of wet snow last night made for a tough groom today. The high moisture content caused the snowmobile and groomer to slide on tight turns. Maywood north is done with a groomed skate deck and a classic track laid. Don got a lot of grooming done south of the river but it isn't complete yet. Some classic track and some skate deck done. I will try to finish it tomorrow morning. Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails remain in pretty good condition. I skied in a light snow early in the afternoon. A little ice here and there. Some of the classic track is down to dirt but generally it is in good shape. Enjoy!

My grandson and I skied the Evergreen and Maywood south trails. Saw about a dozen deer. The trails were in such good shape that we decided to go around again! 3.25 miles each time around. Great fun! Got out and enjoyed! Thanks.

I skied all the trails this morning and they were pretty darn good. Some ice along the river at Maywood north. There is a spring next to the head of the bridge at Maywood north that causes some icy/wet conditions; use caution here. Some open areas have a bit of drifted snow on them. A bit of debris under the evergreens, but not to bad considering the high winds we have had. Leo repaired the road crossings that had been plowed. Thanks! Get out and enjoy!

I laid down new corduroy on the skate deck on this morning. The classic track laid on Monday is still in place. I skied all the trails this afternoon. Some dirt showing in some places. Be especially careful on the downhill in Maywood north. The snow is quite thin near the pond. The skate deck is generally well covered. There are spots under the evergreens where you feel the ice under a thin coating of snow. The classic track is generally good but some areas are washed out and some areas in the sun have exposed dirt. Well worth the time to ski.

Sheboygan received about 8" of snow during Sunday's storm. All trails were groomed today. A classic track was set. Most trails are in good condition. Some areas, especially under evergreen trees, have thin snow over ice. The sun was warm today and already you can see some thin spots due to melting. It was about as picturesque as it gets with thickly flocked trees and a beautiful blue sky.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
I groomed Trail 9, the upper trail at Maywood north, and Trail 3 in Evergreen Park. I then skied these trails in the afternoon. Trail 9 has a classic track set. The classic track is not solid but it is useable. I did not touch the classic track in Evergreen. It is a mixed bag out there. There is some excellent skate conditions. The skate track is classic spring like corn snow. However, there are bare spots and icy spots. Be very careful on the downhills. The trails around the parking lot by the Shaw Playground are rough but once you get past them the conditions improve. Don't be putoff by their appearance. These are not ideal conditions but it is definitely skate skiable, with some caution.
