Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Grooming was finished on McMiller as of 9am after receiving about 6 inches overnight. The skating lanes will be in very good to excellent shape. We were able to get a track on every trail except for the outer blue loop. While setting that track the snow was being pushed off the trail. To avoid damaging the trail we will wait until tomorrow to track those loops. There will be some drifting on the open areas and along the ridges. Warming shelters are closed due to Covid.

Skied the blue, orange, and red trails. All were groomed and good ski conditions. The downhills were very controllable. Very enjoyable. Arrived at 10:15 and by 10:30 the parking lot was full with cars lined up. It was the most I have ever experienced but the ski trails were not crowded.

Grooming

All skate lanes were corduroy leveled on Tuesday afternoon. Trail conditions are rated excellent at this time with no debris peeking up although the oaks may drop an occasional leaf on the trail. Classic tracks were re-set today and are rated excellent.

Grooming

All skate lanes have been re-groomed and are in very good condition. Classic tracks on the Red were re-done and are also in very good condition. The new snow has covered any debris that had been peeking through, so your best skis are the way to go right now. Enjoy!

Fresh 2” of snow, fresh grooming. Slightly soft, but a Winter wonderland. A light snow is also falling at 9:00am.

An icy base not to take lightly. But the worst patches of ice are actually right at the start during the first kilometer. Further out it gets much more controllable. Some downhills on the blue loop were intimidating but no tricks other than being super fast and leaving little room for error. Again if taken seriously they are safe to go. Good skis recommended to get the best control possible. For the most pleasant skiing: inner portion of orange in great shape. The biathlon loop is wonderful, no ice and fresh classic tracks, possibly the best one can find in S Wisconsin right now.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomers were out today. The track on the biathlon, red and orange was reset today and the rest were reset on Wednesday. Overall the track and skate lanes will be in good to excellent condition. The pine areas are not in as good of shape as the hardwoods but there is great skiing to be had. The snow from Tuesday covered all of the bare spots and there is very little debris on the trail. Trails will likely not be groomed again until early Sunday. We will update here as soon as we can. Warming shelters are closed due to Covid. If you run into a rule violation on the trail, please call or text the DNR Tip line.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were being groomed from 12-2pm while I was there. The shortest loop (red) was the only loop that had classic tracks. The conditions were soft and slow as expected with new snow. Great coverage!

Great skiing at McMiller today. The inch of new snow had covered up all debris and any icy spots. The downhills were fast but very controllable. The tracks were also nice. The DNR staff was out grooming the trails as I was skiing.
