Not groomed after recent snow, but definitely skied on. It was a lot of work with the few inches of snow. It had been warm so they may be letting them set before grooming again.

Seven kilometers of the skate lane at the Spooner City Park Ski Trails were scraped up last night, the stride track was not. The tracks are deep and firm but have some leaves in them. After grooming last night, a small pack of coyotes left some prints and some scat on the trail. The skate lane is level with plenty of new corduroy to offer good purchase and control. Enjoy. Lights are until 9.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Decent grooming with older snow that has been skied on a lot. Lots of leaves on the trail and some acorns that in places squirrels have opened across the trail, as well as some bark, twigs and seeds. The disappointing part was no less than 25 separate instances of dog poop throughout the trail system. One was at the bottom of a hill and I believe I skied right through it, and someone else had as well. Hopefully we will get some snow soon, as well as people cleaning up after their pets and not walking on the trails!

The seven kilometers were packed last night, then packed again this morning. Early this afternoon, after the Spooner area received about 16 inches of new snow, a final track and fresh corduroy were set. The trails are soft in spots and have some wind blown sections. On the positive side, the trails are level and offer very good coverage...enjoy. Lights are on until nine!
