Skied the upper loops, fields, and the woods loop late morning. The 4" of wet snow packed into very nice skating trails. A little soft but very skiable with good coverage throughout. no classic tracks but skating was very nice. Great to be back on real snow!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The upper and lower fields are groomed as well as the first loop into the woods. Ample coverage, but would suggest B or rock skis. No porta potty yet.

Another very good day rock skiing at CLCF. I skated everything other than the East Woods loop (too many oak leaves), and conditions were good enough to throw in some intervals. The trail has only deteriorated a little bit in a couple low spots.

Fox Hill is in need of some new snow. Skiable but thin and covered with debris. An inch of new snow and Jerry's magic could make all the difference.

Jerry has done a masterful job. Really good skiing today and it should persist with cold temps!

Jerry groomed it this afternnoon, and it was even better than last Friday due to the 1.5 - 2 inch add-on. All the upper and lower trail were rolled except for the Western Woods. There's a new 50-60 yard section in the Eastern Woods that cuts out two downhill 90 degree turns if you're skiing clockwise. Still rock skiing, but I didn't hit anything today.

[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Three days of skiing in early November! Approximately 3.5-4 km groomed. Expect leaves, some grass showing through, a few rocks/roots/bare spots but also some stretches in midseason form. Amazing grooming get us skiing on only about 1" of base. Prairie sections are the best, take care in any woods area for rocks and tree debris. No tracks but there were a few classic folks out this morning just appreciating real snow!

The Fox Hill micro-climate sent us about 6" of wet, heavy clipper snow on Wednesday. Jerry packed and rolled what's there into a corduroy that firmed up nicely. Occasional rocks/roots because of the very thin cover but there were sections of 100-200yds where it seemed like mid-season skiing. The upper fields are the safest bet, there is a groomed section into the woods that loops back to the upper fields but use caution there. Corkscrew loop is doable but with caution. Summary: really appreciated the chance to get out on real snow on Nov 7th.

Grooming

The upper fields are groomed for skating, about 1.5 miles. It looks like good coverage but will probably melt from the bottom up.
