Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Around 4 inches of snow fell which have left the trails in great shape after grooming tonight. The entire system was groomed both skate and classic. The classic tracks are full depth and solid. The skate lane is flat and pretty firm. Bruce also snowshoed in the snowshoe trail. Hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy!

Grooming

The Yellow trail was groomed edge to edge today. Skate skiing should be firm and fast tomorrow. The Blue classic only trail was groomed and new track set. The new snowshoe trail has received much use and now looks to be firm enough to Fat Bike. Enjoy.

We skate skied and classic skied. My compliments to the excellent grooming and trail conditions. The skate lane was very smooth, flat and firm and the tracks were great. Like mid-winter skiing despite not a lot snow in the woods yet! If you haven’t tried this gem of a trail, you should!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate deck was groomed and classic track set this morning. With colder temps the skate deck should firm up even after the recent fresh snow. The warming house with changing room is open and a portable potty is available on site. The newly opened snow shoe trail starts on the north side of the parking area beyond the grooming equipment. Come on out and enjoy. Happy New Year!

I have never skied at Tomahawk Lake in the past but will be sure to visit often in future. The trail has a wonderful flow for classic skiing with rolling terrain and numerous in track gradual climbs with only one herringbone climb. The fall trail prep is evident as the trail bed is flat, mowed short, and little to any overhanging brush. After a foot of snow yesterday, I was amazed at the work that had been done in one day's prep. Kudos to all those involved in the Barnes community, your efforts are evident and much appreciated. Your trail is a gem and I look forward to future visits.

Grooming

Entire trail system was groomed tonight. Both skate and classic. It's a bit soft but will hopefully set up overnight. The trails recieved maybe 10 to 12 inches of snow. Certainly the best conditions of the season. Thanks to groomer Bruce for rolling the trails today.

Groomed entire trail system tonight. Tracks were set on classic trail only due to thin base. Skate lane looks nice. The trail recieved 4 to 5 inches of snow today.

Great to be out on natural snow trails again. The crew at Tomahawk Lake Park has done an amazing job with the trail system. I skied on Saturday afternoon and the trails had been freshly groomed that morning. The depth was very good with only a few soft spots on the skate deck. I went back Sunday morning and the colder temps had firmed up the trail eliminating those soft section. Early season debris was minimal. The wider trail this year is going to be amazing. If you haven't been to Tomahawk Lake Park to ski before put it on your list for this year. There's ample parking, a warming house with changing room, skate and classic trails and a new snow shoe trail.

Great conditions for skating today. Did the full outer loop. Barnes received another inch and a half or so overnight Friday and by the time I got there around noon, it had already been groomed. Skate deck was in great shape.
