Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base 24+ inches. 3 to 4 inches of new snow on Friday. A grooming attempt was made on Friday night but our equipment clogged due to the wetness of the snow and near thawing temperature. Our easier trails were rolled with subpar results. As soon as the temperature decreases we will begin to groom again.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skied the Pincushion system this afternoon, after 3 to 4 inches of fresh snow overnight. No new grooming had been done yet but skier tracks were in place over most of the trails. Slow going but the base underneath the fresh snow seemed firm, much to my surprise and strong poling was possible. Temps were around freezing and Swix VR45 worked well for kick. Should be great after next grooming.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base 24+ inches. 18 to 20 inches of new snow. All trails groomed with variable results due to Bunyanesque snowfall. Expect soft and lumpy skate lanes, poorly defined or nonexistent classic tracks, ridges and clods strewn about the system. Conditions will improve as the snow firms up and additional grooming occurs. Ski with caution.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base Depth: 8-9 inches. Snowfall Last 24 hours: 1 inch. Season Snowfall Total: 41 inches. Sunday night's high wind event caused some blowing and drifting snow on the trails so we did a partial groom of the system. Skate lanes were generally combed and some of the classic tracks were reset. Grooming plans: We are anticipating the potential of significant snowfall and very cold temperatures Wednesday into Thursday so we will hold off on a full system groom until the forecast firms up. We expect to have all trails fully prepared for the upcoming weekend.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail Base Depth: 8-10 inches. Snowfall Last 24 hours: dusting. Season Snowfall Total: 40 inches. The entire system received a re-groom Friday night. Temperatures were perfect for grooming and the trails should set-up nicely. All of the skate lanes were compacted and combed and most of the trails received new classic tracks. The system is in very good condition. See you on the trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Way better than expected... plenty of fresh snow over any ice underneath. All trails tracked and had about 1 inch of fluff overnight which didn't alter any classic tracked skiing. I did notice the skate base was soft but who cares, it was beautiful out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail Base Depth: 8-9 inches. Snowfall Last 24 hours: 3 inches. Season Snowfall Total: 40 inches. The full grooming team was out working the trail system to end 2019 with the trails in excellent condition. We have enough snow now to be able to fill low spots and remove some of the crown that has been building up on the skate decks. We also took the opportunity to do some high branch trimming work where branches had become loaded with the recent freezing rain, snow and sleet. The entire system was groomed for both classic and skate with all trails in good condition. We expect to do a final groom tonight or early tomorrow depending on snowfall. A special thank you to the grooming team and Happy New Year to all of you from the North Superior Ski and Run Club. See you on the trails.
