Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
In the wake of yesterday's rain and with warm temps forecast for the next several days we're deferring trail grooming until we get a couple of consecutive days of colder temps. We may get some new snow early next week. In the meantime, conditions will be alternately mushy and icy. Please avoid skate skiing when the deck is warm and soft and use caution as there will be icy areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails have been groomed and are in good to excellent condition. We're expecting much warmer temps with repeated freeze-thaw cycles, please exercise caution as there are likely to be icy spots. Base depth: 15+ in. (up to 5 ft),
Unpacked depth: 30-60 in.

Firsthand: Classic

Slow going on the Pincushion Loop; felt more like walking with skis at times. Tracks blown over in places and not recently used much. Beautiful to be in the woods and on the ridge, as always.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished my third ski of the day at Pincushion. Except for the Pincushion Mt loop everything was re-groomed Sunday. The groomer had some minor issues so it was not finished Sunday. It looks like they were out touching things up this afternoon. Skiing was wonderful, solid tracks easy waxing. Winter conditions. The north shore is where it's at.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We dodged a bullet when the heavy sleet storm over the weekend passed to our south. All trails were re-groomed on Sunday except for Pincushion Loop. We had a minor mechanical issue with the Pisten Bully and will get Pincushion groomed in the next day or two. Conditions are excellent, and with warmer temps and no storms in the forecast, it promises to be a great week to ski at Pincushion.
We'll continue grooming as long as conditions allow. Generally, our lower elevation trails like Pincushion Loop thin out soonest. In the meantime, enjoy some great and warmer skiing conditions for a while.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied upper section of Pincushion Loop to Canyon Curves and returned on North Advanced. 2-3 inches of new, wet snow with a little crust from a light mist. Skier made tracks in remnants of machine groomed tracks with good grip and glide. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it skied after the mixed precip in the last 24 hours.

Pristine Pincushion! Pincushion loop, with a little ole hyvä for drama. Newly groomed, solid track.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied North Advanced, Ole Hyvaa, Hilfiker and Canyon Curves. Those trails were freshly groomed overnight and skied great. Tracks are well set but on the soft side with the warm temps. A couple of freestyle skiers strode over the classic track on the entire North Advanced loop and left large chunks of snow in the tracks every 4-5 feet. The tracks took a beating (shrug).

[ Good skis ]
Skied Lower Snowman, Upper Snowman, and B&B loop, which are all groomed and tracked and in great condition. North Advanced wasn't groomed since the snow. Made for great snowplowing on the downhills. Fantastic weather and conditions.
